Jay White Loses “Loser Leaves Japan” Match, Future Career in NJPW Uncertain
New Japan Pro Wrestling held their The New Beginning in Osaka 2023 event earlier today in Osaka, Japan.
This event featured a Loser Leaves Japan match between Hikuleo and Jay White, which was won by Hikuleo. White is no longer allowed to work in Japan for NJPW as per terms of the match stipulation but can work in the United States and any other regions for their events.
White is currently scheduled to work at NJPW’s Battle in the Valley 2023 event on February 18th in San Jose, California but his status for the company afterwards is currently not known.
White is currently expected to be leaving NJPW once his contract with the company expires soon and is believed to be likely heading to either WWE or AEW.
Kota Ibushi Comments on His Interest in Working in WWE
As noted before, Kota Ibushi left New Japan Pro Wrestling this past January following the expiration of his contract and is currently a free agent.
Dark Puroresu Flowsion held a recent interview with Ibushi. One of the topics discussed included Ibushi’s thoughts on his interest in potentially working for WWE in the future.
“Of course, I’m interested in it. I’m good at producing players & I’ve created stars, so I don’t think there’s anyone who can control me even in that frame. I live so freely.”
In regards to AEW, it was stated in the interview that Ibushi currently has “high interest” in wanting to work for the company in the future.
