Dakota Kai Reportedly Had Agreed to Contract with Stardom Before WWE Return

Planet Comiccon recently held their Planet Comicon 2023 event this past weekend in Kansas City, Missouri featuring Mercedes Mone among the guests. One of the topics discussed included Mone’s thoughts on Dakota Kai’s return to WWE this past July and her own interest in a potential WWE return in the future.

“It’s up to them. It’s up to Dakota and everybody else that wants to come back. That’s great for them, that’s awesome. That’s their dream but I went after mine, which was going to Japan. You have to follow your heart and follow your soul and follow your dreams and this was always, always, always a dream of mine that I never got to accomplish. So, as I’m growing in my career, I’ve like been in the WWE for almost 10 years. I had to have a change, I had to feel something different in my heart and soul so I had to go after a whole new dream and a whole new chapter and a whole new destiny for me. And this is where I want to be and this is what I want to make happen for me.”

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that Kai had originally agreed to a deal with Stardom but backed out after WWE contacted her for a return to their company. WWE reportedly offered Kai a main roster type contract and spot on their main roster for her potential return, which she accepted.
