A recent episode of the What Happened When with Tony Schiavone podcast featured co-host Tony Schiavone revealing that his current contract with AEW is set to expire in early 2024.
In response to a joking comment made by co-host Conrad Thompson, Schiavone stated that his current contract with AEW is not a lifetime type deal and instead is currently set to expire in April of 2024.
“That’s a f*cking lie (Schiavone responded to Conrad Thompson joking about him having a lifetime deal with AEW). Unless my life ends by April of next year.
There is no guarantee that they’re gonna re-sign me. There’s no guarantee on that. That’s how I approach life.”
Schiavone has been signed with AEW since 2019 and has primarily been working as a member of AEW’s commentary team. Schiavone has also been working in a backstage executive role in AEW as their Senior Producer and Special Advisor to Talent.
