Those spoken to from within Stardom and AEW reportedly stated that there have been some hurdles that could potentially prevent this from becoming a reality in the end. In regards to potential matchups, it was reported that Toni Storm’s name was specifically brought up for a potential match against a Stardom talent at the event.
It was reported that one of the main talking points between AEW and Stardom involves which Stardom talent would be available to work at Forbidden Door II on June 25th in Toronto, Canada due to Stardom will be holding their own event in Tokyo, Japan on that same day. It was reported that this issue is something both sides are currently trying to figure out how to make it work and also something that AEW officials are currently hopeful of making it happen if they can pull it off.
