Tony Dreamer Comments on Undergoing Surgery for Skin Cancer

As noted before, Tommy Dreamer has been on a break from Impact Wrestling and his wrestling career since this past April due to mental health-related issues over the passing of his mother.

In a recent episode of the House of Hardcore podcast, host Tommy Dreamer revealed that was recent diagnosed with skin cancer for the third time in his life and had recently underwent surgery to remove the cancerous cells.

“I know you’re all looking at [my head] and saying, ‘What the hell is so shiny on your head? Are you going to town? Are you having barbed wire matches? No. Guess what? Ladies and gentlemen, I had skin cancer. That’s right. Being a guido all these years has caught up to me. This is the third time I’ve had skin cancer. Of course, it’s on my head, but I’m not a pretty boy. I am hardcore. It’s scary when they tell you you have cancer. It’s the best form of cancer, but you have to get it removed. For this, they’re able to cut it out. It’s called Moles surgery. I’ve had it before. I’ve had it here on my chest, I’ve had it on my head, and now I have a bigger one on my head. What you’re looking at is the grossness of 42 stitches. I had 23 outside and 19 inside. You don’t feel it when they’re cutting you. The weirdness of it is they have to cauterize your stuff, so you can smell your skin burning. Then the part that I didn’t like, you can hear the scalpel cutting open your head. The worst part is, you can hear them putting in the stitches, and it’s a long task to get that many stitches, but it’s in your head. They can numb it, you’re not feeling it. But you can hear it. You can hear it going into your skin and the tightening of the thread. It’s gross.”

Tony Khan Comments on If ROH Was Ever Considered for Saturday Nights on TNT

Post Wrestling and Wrestlenomics held a recent interview with AEW CEO and Ring of Honor owner Tony Khan. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts on if there were ever any considerations for ROH to get a television deal for Saturday nights on TNT.

“Not for TNT. I think the idea of two more hours of AEW is very appealing. What it meant was that AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation would be coming to an end, at least for now, and they were great shows, and they’ve been huge to the development of AEW. So many great wrestlers, from a developmental perspective, got their start in AEW on Dark or Elevation, and it includes a lot of people who have been champions and are a major part of the show now on a weekly basis. I think in the future, Ring of Honor is gonna be really important to the development of AEW, and thankfully we are able to devote thousands of matches across hundreds of episodes of Dark and Elevation to really fostering a young roster, building people up, and now I think we have a great outlet also in a sister company in Ring of Honor and also our partnership with New Japan Pro Wrestling, and other great partnerships, other companies we’ve worked with to create possibly excursions or other great experiences for our wrestlers to get experience overseas or domestically.”
