Backstage Reaction Over Rick Steiner Transphobic Incident & No Heat Towards Bron Breakker

As noted before, Impact Wrestling talent Gisele Shaw was involved in a transphobic incident with WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner at an autograph signing convention for WrestleCon this past April.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Bron Breakker has not received any backstage heat whatsoever within WWE over the actions of his father nor did WWE officials ever consider the idea of holding him responsible for something his father did. Those spoken to reportedly stated that Breakker has not had any character issues within WWE since joining the company.

In regards to Steiner, it was reported that those spoken to stated that Steiner’s recent transphobic incident has eliminated any chance of WWE booking him for appearances for the foreseeable future.


WWE Announces Backstage Interviewer Shakeup for RAW & SmackDown Brands

WWE recently announced that they have made some shakeups for their backstage interviewers for their RAW and SmackDown brands and expanded roles in the company for several backstage talent.

It was announced that Jackie Redmond will be joining Byron Saxton as a backstage interviewer for their RAW brand and as a panelist for their premium live events kickoff shows.

Megan Morant was announced to be the new host of Raw Talk, SmackDown LowDown, and other WWE digital shows.

Cathy Kelly was announced to be moving from the RAW brand to the SmackDown brand and will be joining Kayla Braxton as a backstage interviewer.

STAMFORD, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– WWE (NYSE: WWE) today announced that Jackie Redmond will take on an expanded role with the company beginning this Saturday, July 1. Redmond will serve as a backstage interviewer for Monday Night Raw, alongside Byron Saxton. Additionally, she will join Kayla Braxton to co-host WWE’s premium live event kickoff shows with Booker T and Peter Rosenberg. Redmond will also continue to do studio work throughout the year.

With more than 10 years of sports broadcasting experience, Redmond has served as a host and reporter for NHL Network, WBD Sports and Rogers Sportsnet in Canada. She began working with WWE in 2021 as co-host of Raw Talk and Talking Smack. During hockey season, Redmond will continue to work for NHL Network and WBD Sports.

Megan Morant is taking on an expanded full-time role at WWE’s Stamford studios, where she will host Raw Talk, SmackDown LowDown, international shows for television and various digital shows including the Monday Night Raw’s sidecast on Twitch.

Cathy Kelley will move to Friday Night SmackDown, where she will join Kayla Braxton as a backstage interviewer.


A&E WWE Programming Ratings – June 25, 2023

This past Sunday’s WWE’s Most Wanted Treasures episode drew 333,000 viewers on A&E. This episode also drew a 0.11 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a #24 ranking in the key demographic rankings. This was up from last week episode’s 276,000 viewers, 0.09 key demographic rating, and #30 key demographic ranking. This episode focused on lost Kurt Angle historic memorabilia.

This past Sunday’s Stone Cold Takes America episode drew 200,000 viewers on A&E. This episode also drew a 0.06 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a #60 ranking in the key demographic rankings. This was down from last week episode’s 211,000 viewers and #59 key demographic ranking.
