Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed a recent report from Voices of Wrestling about CM Punk had recently pitched to AEW officials to be included in their upcoming Blood & Guts match between the Blackpool Combat Club and The Elite.
It was reported that Punk had pitched the idea of him being the mystery fifth member of Blackpool Combat Club’s team for the match, which currently consists of Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and Konosuke Takeshita.
It was also reported that it is currently not known if Punk was serious about his idea nor if he had actually expected his offer to be accepted.
One source spoken to reportedly stated that “neither team would want him.” In regards to Jon Moxley’s issues with Punk, it was reported that those spoken to stated that Moxley was not opposed to the idea.
It was also reported that AEW officials had already made the decision on who would be the final mystery partners for both the BCC and The Elite’s teams around two weeks ago.
