A new Japanese Joshi wrestling promotion reportedly is currently planning to launch this Fall in the United States, according to PWInsider.
Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that this upcoming new promotion will be entirely Japanese-based Joshi talents coming into the United States for shows. This new promotion reportedly is currently planing to utilize female talent from existing Japanese Joshi promotions running their own events in the U.S.
Johnson reported that those spoken to stated that this upcoming new promotion is also currently working on plans for the production side to set it apart from other promotions in regards to their goal of creating a different “atmosphere” to their events and resemble “authentic Joshi wrestling.”
Johnson also reported that this new promotion also currently has plans to raise its profile to larger audiences outside of just a pro wrestling audience. The group behind this new promotion reportedly have invested significant resources and have enlisted notable names from the entertainment, media, wrestling, and fashion industries for their front office.
Johnson reported that this new promotion could launch as early as this September and hold their debut event in New York City, New York based on those spoken to from a venue already booked for this new promotion.
