WWE: Nick Aldis Reportedly to Start Producer Tryout, Ronda Rousey Leaving WWE, KAIRI WWE Return Update

Nick Aldis Reportedly Given Producer Tryout by WWE

As noted before, Nick Aldis’ handshake contract with Impact Wrestling expired this past July and left the company for a potential backstage job in WWE.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Aldis was seen in Minneapolis, Minnesota ahead of tonight’s WWE RAW show in the city. Those same sources reportedly also stated that the reason for the visit is due to WWE had brought him in for a producer tryout starting with tonight’s RAW show.

Johnson reported that Aldis’ producer tryout is currently expected to last for a few weeks and Aldis to make backstage appearances at numerous WWE shows.

Ronda Rousey Comments on Having No Reason to Stay in WWE

As noted before, Ronda Rousey recently gave a “hard out” date to WWE officials which led to them speeding up their plans for Rousey and Shanya Baszler’s WWE Women’s Tag Team titles reign and feud. This date was believed to be either this past Saturday’s SummerSlam 2023 event or shortly afterwards.

Rousey reflected on Instagram on Monday about her loss to Baszler at SummerSlam and the future of her wrestling career.

“[Shayna Baszler] you were the reason I got into this business… Now I got no reason to stay.”

KAIRI WWE Return Status Update

As noted before, Stardom talent KAIRI recently signed an official contract with WWE and is currently expected to return to the company within the near future.

KAIRI held a press conference in Japan earlier today confirming that she will be leaving Stardom and will be going on an “indefinite hiatus” for her career in order to prepare for the “next voyage” for her career, which is believed to be her return to WWE.

“I have made a decision. I can’t say it clearly, but in preparation for a new voyage, a voyage of determination, I would like to put my activities on indefinite hiatus as of the end of September 2023. Rest assured that this is a positive decision.

Lastly, I would like to thank President Rossy Ogawa for not giving up on me, who was said to have no talent, everyone at Stardom who supported me, wrestlers from other organisations, the media and the fans who have always supported me. Thank you very much.”

In regards to the reason for her decision to return to WWE, Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that KAIRI’s decision was due to issues related to Stardom and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s dropping their original plans for her to become their big international star and for NJPW’s United States expansion plans. Meltzer reported that those plans got pulled in favor of NJPW signing Mercedes Mone for that role instead.
