Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka
We see clips of the WWE Women’s Championship match from SummerSlam and IYO SKY becoming the new Champion.
Asuka starts the match with right hands but Charlotte with forearms. Charlotte with a running shoulder tackle knocks Asuka down. Charlotte runs to the ropes but Asuka with a drop kick. Asuka with kicks but Flair trips her up and Flair hits her with a big boot. Flair goes on the top rope but Asuka gets to her feet and throws Flair off the top rope. Asuka on the second rope and she hits Flair with a drop kick followed by a running kick to the face. Asuka goes for the cover but Flair kicks out.
Back from commercial, Flair lands a cross body off the top rope. Asuka to her feet and Flair with chops to the chest. She goes for the cover but Asuka kicks out. Asuka gets to her feet as Flair runs to the ropes and hits her with the spear. Flair goes for the Figure Eight but out come Damage CTRL. That distracts Flair as Asuka rolls her up for the cover but Flair kicks out. Both women to their feet and Flair hits Asuka with a big boot.
Bayley gets on the ring apron as Flair goes to knock her down but Bayley jumps off. Asuka hits Flair with the double knees. Both women get back up and IYO SKY with a drop kick off the top rope onto both women as the referee calls for the bell.
Winner: No contest
Bayley and IYO SKY beat up Flair and Asuka after the match.
Backstage: Santos Escobar, Austin Theory
Kayla is backstage with Santos. He tells her he has one word to describe what he is feeling and that is confidence. He says it starts tonight.
As he is talking, Austin Theory attacks him and slams him onto equipment in the back as officials break it up. Theory slams a piece of equipment onto Escobar’s leg.
After commercials, Escobar is backstage with WWE doctors and he has ice on his left knee and is in pain.
AJ Styles vs. Karrion Kross
The bell rings and we are under way. AJ Styles with a drop kick followed by a back breaker. Kross gets up and AJ to the ropes but Kross with a back body drop. Kross throws AJ across the ring. Kross throws AJ viciously face first into the turnbuckle. Kross places AJ on the top rope and goes for a suplex but AJ slides under and trips Kross down. AJ clothesline’s Kross to the outside of the ring. AJ gets on the ring apron and goes for a knee to the face but Kross grabs him and hits him with a death valley driver onto the announce table.
Back from commercial and AJ with a forearm in the corner. AJ on the ring apron, he goes for the Phenomenal Forearm but Kross gets him in the Kross Jacket but AJ bounces off the ropes and gets it into a cover but KRoss kicks out. Kross still has him in the Kross Jacket. AJ begins to fade but AJ gets to his feet and runs into the turnbuckle which breaks it up. AJ lifts Kross up and slams him onto the mat. He goes for the cover but Kross kicks out. AJ with kicks to the head. He jumps off the top rope and lands the 450 splash. He goes for the cover but Scarlett places Karrion’s leg on the ropes and that breaks up the cover.
Michin runs after Scarlett but Scarlett moves out of the way and Michin runs into the ring post. Kross with a suplex onto AJ. He goes for a clothesline, AJ moves, he kicks Kross in the face. He goes for the Styles Clash but Scarlett gets on the ring apron and distracts him. Michin trips her down and throws her onto the announce table. AJ hits Kross with an overhead kick followed by the Styles Clash. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: AJ Styles
Backstage: Austin Theory, Rey Mysterio
Cathy Kelley is backstage and in comes Austin Theory. He says he is upset, he might not get to defend his title. In comes Rey who tells Theory that Escobar will make it out there as Theory mocks him and says good because he was concerned.
In-Ring: Edge, Brawling Brutes
Edge’s music hits and he comes down to the ring to a loud pop from the crowd. Edge is in the ring and he says he was not advertised, he got his 25 year anniversary in the WWE next week in Toronto but he saw Calgary was on the list a week before. And it has been too long since they have all seen each other.
He says next week in Toronto he will have a match against a man he never faced one on one before. And that man is Sheamus. Edge says they have a lot of history together. Sheamus is the reason Edge is still standing in the ring. He says Sheamus is the guy who lit the fire and made him realize he can do this again after his retirement.
Edge says Sheamus called him and got him on his Youtube channel to work out. He says the light bulb lit in his head during their work out and he thought maybe he can do the only thing he is supposed to do again. The 2020 Royal Rumble is coming up and he called Sheamus. He had to know if he was ready and Sheamus went to Edge’s house and he became part of his extended family. And they got in that ring every day and they kicked the crap out of each other. He realized after that, he was ready. And now he is standing in Calgary to prove it.
He introduces the Brawling Brutes and Sheamus to the ring. The Brawling Brutes get in the ring and Sheamus says Edge mentioned their work out on Youtube and he has that video saved. We see clips of their work out with the two of them biking and Edge falling. Edge says he has something in his back pocket too. We see a picture of both of them on bicycles with Sheamus on Edge’s daughter’s bicycle. Sheamus laughs and tells Edge this is his platform but he wants to get serious.
Sheamus says in 2004 he was at a cross roads. If he was going to work for his dream of being in the WWE or not. And he was in Ireland and WWE were coming to town. He said he went to speak to the talent and they all gave him the cold shoulder. Every one except for Edge. Sheamus says Edge did not have to give him any time but Edge gave him his time and gave him the best advice he ever heard and bought him a pint of Guiness. He says where he comes from, that’s a big deal. And right there, he knew Edge was a world class act. The fact that they never wrestled together is astonishing.
Sheamus says the truth of the matter is that without their conversation, he would not be standing in the ring. Edge says he appreciates that but all of that being said, next week in his home town, two veterans slapping the crap out of each other and after that they can even have a drink. The fans chant “Yes”. Sheamus says he has a deal as they shake hands. Sheamus tells Edge he just hopes he didn’t make a mistake as Edge’s music hits.
LA Knight vs. Top Dolla
We see a clip of the SlimJim Battle Royal from SummerSlam with LA Knight getting the win. We cut to a clip of Raw and the fight between LA Knight and The Miz.
LA Knight’s music hits and he gets a loud pop from the crowd.
The bell rings and we are under way. LA Knight runs to the ropes and his leg is dragged by Ashante and Top Dolla knocks him down. Top Dolla distracts the referee and Ashante hits LA Knight with a right hand. Top Dolla lifts LA Knight up but LA Knight lands on his feet. Right hands by LA Knight and he lands a bulldog off the second rope, Ashante gets on the ring apron but LA Knight knocks him down. LA Knight with a jumping elbow onto Top Dolla. He hits him with the Blunt Force Trauma. LA Knight goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: LA Knight
He gets on the microphone after the match and says it doesn’t matter if it’s on Raw, SmackDown, if you call yourself awesome or Uncle Phil but at the end of the day, you will know what name it is, with every one saying… LA Knight… Yeah!
Backstage: Santos Escobar
Escobar and Rey Mysterio are backstage. In comes Adam Pearce and Escobar tells him he is ready to go.
Backstage: Street Profits & Bobby Lashley
The Street Profits and Bobby Lashley are sitting, having drinks. Lashley says tonight is a celebration of new partnership and new opportunities. He says he sees a lot of talent between them but last week, how did that feel? Dawkins says it felt great, especially in suits. Ford says it feels like their job is not finished. Lashley says gold is all there for them to take. Ford tells them the sky is the limit. Lashley says SmackDown is ready for a new team to run the place.
On-Stage: Santos Escobar, Austin Theory
Santos Escobar is walking down to the ring and Theory attacks him from behind. Theory gets in the ring as the LWO and WWE officials check up on Escobar. Theory says Escobar is too weak and he asks the referee to come down and raise the greatest of all time’s hand. Adam Pearce announces Rey Mysterio against Austin Theory for the United States Championship.
WWE United States Championship
Austin Theory (c) vs. Rey Mysterio
Back from commercial and the match is already under way. Rey with a cross body off the second rope. He goes for the cover but Theory kicks out. Rey climbs the second rope but Theory gets Rey on his shoulders. Rey with right hands and he slams Theory into the turnbuckle. Rey goes for the cover but Theory kicks out. Both men get to their feet and Theory with a kick to the face. He lifts Rey up on his shoulders but Rey lands on his feet and he kicks Thoery with a kick to the side of the head. Rey gets him down on the second rope. He goes for the 619 but Theory catches him. He places Rey on his shoulders but Theory is in pain. Rey trips him up on the second rope and hits him with the 619 followed by a splash off the top rope. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: New WWE United States Champion, Rey Mysterio
Rey walks up the ramp with the LWO standing and they all celebrate together.
In-Ring: The Bloodline
Roman’s music hits and out he comes with Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa.
Reigns stands in the middle of the ring and looks at the crowd. He tells the crowd in Calgary to acknowledge him. Roman asks Heyman where Jimmy is at and Heyman tells him he doesn’t know. Roman asks if he has seen him or talked to him. Heyman tells him he hasn’t seen him, he spoke to him this morning and Jimmy was salty with him.
We cut and see Jimmy at ringside wearing all black. They turn around and all eyes are on Jimmy with the crowd booing him. Jimmy gets on the ring apron and in the ring with the fans chanting “you sold out”.
Roman tells Jimmy not to worry about the fans and how they mean nothing. Roman laughs and says to be real about it. Roman owes him one. He tells Jimmy to name it, name his price, what ever he wants, it’s done. If he wants a new car, done. A boat, a yacht, done. A jet, done.
Jimmy says he wants nothing from Roman. What he did at SummerSlam had nothing to do with Roman. Roman looks confused and tells Jimmy he must be confused. He knows who he is, he can make anything happen. If he wants power, position, the new right hand man, main event Jimmy Uso. They can make it happen.
Jey’s music hits and out he comes.
Jey gets in the ring and goes face to face with Jimmy. He grabs the microphone from him as Roman, Solo and Heyman are in the corner. Jey says he is about to throw 37 years down the drain right now if he doesn’t tell him why he did it.
Jimmy tells Jey he did what he did because he loves him. We see Roman laughing in the corner. Jimmy says he did it because he was afraid to lose him. If he would have beat Roman, he would have become Tribal Chief and then what happens to the Usos. Not only, he would have become the Tribal Chief but he would have gotten power that would have made him like Roman. Corrupted. He says Roman is corrupted. He has been playing them. He would never be able to live if he saw him become an egotistical, lying asshole like Roman Reigns. The fans chant “asshole” as Roman smirks in the corner.
He tells Jey he was afraid that Jey was going to leave. If he doesn’t believe him, if he doesn’t want to speak with him, fine. But it’s because he loves him. If he wants to kick his face off, 37 years of pain, to do it. Roman is in the corner and he is telling Jey to kick him. Jey shakes his head and turns his back to Jimmy. Roman stands in the corner as Jimmy leaves the ring.
Roman begins to laugh. He says if there wasn’t a perfect time for an “I told you so”. He told Jey that he is a hot head, he thinks with his emotions. Tonight isn’t about him and his brother. This night is about one thing, it’s been like this for three years. He tells Jey to acknowledge him and Jey superkicks Roman in the face. Solo attacks Jey. He goes for the Samoan Spike but Jey ducks and hits him with a super kick. Roman hits Jey with a Superman Punch. Roman goes for a spear but Jey hits him with a super kick and a spear.
Jey grabs a microphone and tells Jimmy to hold on. He calls Jimmy back and as they go to hug, Jey hits him with a super kick.
Jey looks at the camera and says he is out of the Bloodline, out of SmackDown and out of WWE. He jumps the barricade and leaves as SmackDown goes off the air.
