Trick Williams Wins NXT North American Title at NXT No Mercy

Saturday’s WWE NXT No Mercy event at the Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, California featured Trick Williams defeating Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American Championship.

The finish to this match involved special guest referee Dragon Lee being accidentally laid out and sent out of the ring by Mysterio’s superkick that was meant for Williams instead. After some back-and-forth action, Mysterio accidentally laid out the second referee and knocked Williams out of the ring afterwards. After Williams got back into the ring, Mysterio attempted a Frog Splash only for Williams to dodge it. Williams then attempted a pinfall but there was no count due to the lack of a referee. Williams then got out of the ring and grabbed Dragon Lee to toss him back in which led to Mysterio having enough time to grab his North American title and attempted to use it as a weapon. Mysterio’s plans quickly backfired after he got caught by a running knee strikes by Williams that managed to hit the belt and whacked Mysterio in the head in the process. Williams then covered Mysterio for the pinfall victory to become the new NXT North American Champion.

Ilja Dragunov Wins NXT Title at NXT No Mercy

Saturday’s WWE NXT No Mercy event in Bakersfield also featured Ilja Dragunov defeating Carmelo Hayes for the NXT Championship.

The finish to this match involved Dragunov hitting a superplex to Hayes off the top rope leading to Hayes responding back with a Codebreaker leading to Dragunov responding with an H-Bomb strike for a nearfall. Dragunov then hit a second H-Bomb off the middle for another near fall. Hayes responded back with a superkick for a nearfall of his own. Hayes and Dragunov then engaged in a fight on the apron that led to Hayes hitting a cutter off the apron onto the floor. Hayes then attempted a high flying move only to be countered by Dragunov who hit clothesline to Hayes mid-air. Dragunov then went to the top rope and hit a Super H-Bomb for the pinfall victory to become the new NXT Champion.
