Impact: CM Punk Reportedly Was Backstage at Sunday Tapings, Eric Young on Choosing Impact Over AEW, Will Ospreay

CM Punk Reportedly was Backstage at Impact’s TV Tapings on Sunday

CM Punk reportedly was in attendance backstage at Sunday’s Impact! television tapings for Impact Wrestling in Cicero, Illinois, according to Haus of Wrestling.

Nick Hausman reported that his sources stated that CM Punk arrived at the venue and was taken to the backstage locker room shortly prior to the start of Impact’s tapings that night at around 6:30PM CST.

Punk reportedly was seen talking with anyone who wanted to chat including “key Impact talent” throughout the taping. Hausman reported that Punk’s presence did not faze any of the talent due to them being used to his presence following him attending a taping for Impact earlier this year.

Hausman also reported that Punk did not spend that much time with his old friend Ace Steel due to Steel being busy working as a backstage producer at the tapings. In regards to Steel, Hausman reported that Steel was warmly received backstage by others and appeared to be very happy to be back to work.

Eric Young Comments on Decision to Return to Impact Over Going to AEW Instead

A recent episode of the Haus of Wrestling podcast featured Eric Young as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Young’s thoughts on his decision to return to Impact Wrestling instead of going to AEW following his departure from WWE earlier this year.

“I talked with some friends there and people that I trust, and Tony had kind of mentioned that he was interested, but it just never materialized. And the truth is, I’m just going to get lost in the ether and in the mix like 60 other people there, right? The truth is I don’t have his confidence. Me and him aren’t close in any way, shape, or form.

I’m kind of replacing one set of problems for another, and I have nothing against Tony Khan. From everything I know, he’s a very nice man. I met him a couple of times in passing. He treats the wrestlers with respect, he pays them very well, and is a very respectful man and a kind man. So, it’s nothing against the product or nothing against him. It’s just not my place. Impact Wrestling is my home, and that’s where I wanted to be. So that’s where I am.”

Will Ospreay Comments on Working for Impact This Past Weekend

New Japan Pro Wrestling talent Will Ospreay worked at this past weekend’s Bound For Glory 2023 event and Impact! television tapings for Impact Wrestling.

Ospreay reflected on Twitter earlier today about his experience working for Impact this past weekend.

“I have had the best time at @IMPACTWRESTLING from fan experience to quality of wrestling.

I honestly believe that the reason they have climbed back from such a deep trench… is because that place is one big team.

The moment they said ‘we are TNA’

I said ‘yes they are’

I’m so happy for all of that crew because they all work so hard and are grateful for the fan support.

TNA was the reason I wanted to become a wrestler.

With that team, they will inspire brand new TNA kids.
