As noted before, Mercedes Mone has been out of action for New Japan Pro Wrestling and Stardom since this past May due to an ankle injury.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that it is currently not known when Mone will be able to make her in-ring return from ankle injury.
In regards to Mone’s current contract with NJPW and Stardom, Meltzer reported that Mone currently does not have any dates left scheduled with either NJPW nor Stardom nor any potential date for a match with Giulia for the IWGP Women’s Championship. Meltzer reported that NJPW officials original plans were for Mone to compete for the IWGP Women’s title once she returned from her injury but at the moment they do not have any plans in place for her for it. Meltzer reported that once Mone is able to return from injury, Bushiroad and NJPW will have to decide on costs and dates for a new deal for Mone.
