WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023 Notes: Team Belair & Team Cody Wins WarGames Matches, R-Truth & Randy Orton Returns, CM Punk Surprise Return

Team Belair Wins Women’s WarGames Match

Saturday’s WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023 match at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois featured Bianca Belair, Shotzi, Becky Lynch, & Charlotte Flair defeated Damage CTRL (Bayley, Asuka, Kairi Sane, & IYO SKY) in a Women’s WarGames match.

Prior to the start of the match, WWE announced during the Survivor Series Kickoff show that Belair and her team had won the fan poll for the advantage for the match.

The finish to this match involved Flair hitting a big boot to Sane and went for a Spear only for Bayley to run into harms way and got hit to protect Sane. Shotzi then hit Bayley with a top rope Senton that was followed by Belair hitting a KOD to Bayley. Belair then hoisted up Bayley up the ropes for Lynch who proceeded to hit a Manhandle Slam through a table for the pinfall to give her team the victory.


R-Truth Makes Surprise Return at Saturday’s Survivor Series WarGames 2023 Event

Saturday’s Survivor Series WarGames 2023 event also featured R-Truth making his surprise return from injury.

During a backstage segment advertising tonight’s sponsor Ruffles chips, Alpha Academy, Chelsea Green, and Piper Niven were seen eating chips only to be interrupted by Pretty Deadly. Otis and Pretty Deadly then got into a heated argument if those were chips they were eating or crisps instead. R-Truth made a surprise appearance and interrupted stating that they are Ruffles instead and told Akira Tozawa to do the Ruffles dance, which Tozawa proceeded to do to end the segment.

This was R-Truth’s first appearance in WWE since November of 2022 due to a torn quad injury.


Randy Orton Returns & Team Rhodes Wins Men’s WarGames Match

Saturday’s Survivor Series WarGames 2023 event also featured Randy Orton making his official return from injury and Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, & Orton defeating Judgement Day in the Men’s WarGames match.

Throughout the show, several backstage segments took place involving Rhodes and his team being worried over Orton had still not shown up to the venue for their WarGames match tonight.

During the match itself, Dominik Mysterio was the final member of Judgement Day to enter the match giving his team a 5-to-4 advantage in the ring. Following the clock counting down to zero, Judgement Day’s theme played after a brief pause leading to Rhea Ripley running out with Damian Priest’s Money In The Bank briefcase and demanded for it to be cashed in after Priest had put Rollins through a table. This attempt was foiled following Orton’s entrance theme playing and him coming out to the ring. Orton closed the cage door making the WarGames match official and voiding Priest’s attempt to cash in his briefcase.

The finish to this match involved Orton preparing to hit an RKO onto Priest only to hand him over to Rhodes who hit the Cross Rhodes for the pinfall to give his team the WarGames victory.


CM Punk Makes Surprise WWE Return at Survivor Series WarGames 2023

Saturday’s Survivor Series 2023 WarGames event also featured CM Punk making a surprise appearance and official return to WWE.

Following the Men’s WarGames match, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and Randy Orton were celebrating their victory in the ring. As the show closing WWE copyright logo appeared on the screen, Cult of Personality & CM Punk’s tron played on the entrance stage big screen. Punk then came out to a roaring crowd and celebrated with several fans as the show closed for real.

This was Punk’s first appearance in WWE since January of 2014.
