#1 Contender’s AEW International Title 4-Way Match Announced for Fri. Rampage Show & Winner to Get Title Shot at Sat. Collision Show

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show featured two new matches announced for the card of this Friday’s Rampage and Saturday’s Collision shows.

In regards to Rampage, this new match was announced to be an AEW International Title #1 Contender Freshly Squeezed 4-Way match of Kip Sabian vs. Komander vs. El Hijo del Vikingo vs. The Butcher.

In regards to Collision, this new match was announced to be an AEW International Championship match of Winner of the #1 Contender 4-Way match vs. Orange Cassidy (c).

These matches were setup following a backstage interview segment involving Cassidy. AEW backstage interviewer Renee Paquette asked Cassidy for his thoughts about Roderick Strong’s challenge for his AEW International Championship at Revolution 2024. Cassidy responded stating that if Strong wants a shot at his title at Revolution, then okay he will give him the match. Cassidy also stated that he was not going to wait that long to wrestle and had a talk with Tony Khan to get two matches made with his friends and enemies to be put together in a match on Rampage and the winner of this match will get a shot at his title on Collision.

In a follow-up segment, it was announced that this #1 Contender’s match will be a Freshly Squeezed 4-Way match featuring Kip Sabian, Komander, El Hijo del Vikingo, and The Butcher.

Besides those two matches, three other new matches were also announced for this Friday’s show.

Bryan Danielson vs. Yuji Nagata & Serena Deeb In-Ring Return Announced for Sat. Collision Show

Wednesday’s Dynamite show also featured three other new matches announced for the card of this Saturday’s AEW Collision show in Bossier City, Louisiana.

The first other new match announced was a singles match of Bryan Danielson vs. Yuji Nagata.

This match was setup in the form of a match graphic announcement that was aired during the show.

The second other new match announced was a singles match of Serena Deeb vs. mystery opponent.

This match was setup following a promo video package featuring Deeb revealing that she will be making her official in-ring return at this Saturday’s Collision show.

The third other match announced was a singles match of Mariah May vs. Lady Frost.

This match was setup in the form of a match graphic announcement that was aired during the show.

Dealer’s Choices Matches & Taya Valkyrie vs. Deonna Purrazzo Announced for Jan. 31st Dynamite Show

Wednesday’s Dynamite show also featured three new matches announced for next week’s Dynamite show on January 31st in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The first new match announced was a singles match of Taya Valkyrie vs. Deonna Purrazzo.

This match was setup following a backstage promo segment involving Valkyrie and Johnny TV. Valkyrie stated that she was pissed off over Purrazzo trying to cut to the front of the line for a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship. Johnny TV responded stating no buts, no cuts, no coconuts leading to Valkyrie issuing a challenge to Purrazzo for match between them at next week’s Dynamite show.

The two other matches announced were Dealer’s Choice matches of Swerve Strickland vs. mystery opponent and Hangman Adam Page vs. mystery opponent.

These matches were setup following a backstage segment involving Page, Strickland, and Prince Nana. AEW backstage interviewer Renee Paquette asked Page for his thoughts about how his win earlier tonight impacts his rankings. Before Page could say much, Strickland and Nana showed up to interrupt. This led to Page and Strickland engaging in a heated bickering banter over Page boasting about being undefeated in 2024 and Strickland reminding him who was the last person he lost to leading to Page claiming he was going to end Strickland’s chances at becoming the AEW World Champion. Paquette interrupted their bickering stating that she just got word that Strickland and Page will be competing in Dealer’s Choices matches at next week’s Dynamite show. Paquette stated that Page will get to pick Strickland’s opponent and Strickland will get to do the same for Page’s opponent.

Sting & Darby Allin vs. Big Bill & Ricky Starks for AEW Tag Titles Announced

Wednesday’s Dynamite show also featured the announcement of an AEW World Tag Team Championship match of Sting & Darby Allin vs. Big Bill & Ricky Starks (c).

This match was setup following an in-ring interview segment involving Sting and Allin. Allin talked about the impact Sting has had on his wrestling career and how Sting had influenced him far before they teamed up in AEW. Allin stated that when Sting’s career was almost cut short, he questioned if the same could happen to him as well. Allin then stated that when he found out that Sting was coming to AEW, he flew to Texas to train at Sting’s home and told Sting that he still got it after some training together. This led to a quick camera shot of the Young Bucks backstage with head sets on keeping an eye on what was going on. Allin then stated that since Sting and himself are undefeated and with the rankings coming back, it made sense for them to challenge for the AEW Tag Team titles. Allin then told Sting if he wants to end his career as AEW Tag Team Champions, which Sting responded stating that he is in.

In a follow-up backstage segment, Starks and Big Bill responded to Allin’s challenge. Starks thanked Sting and Allin for having the respect to address them by their name and as AEW World Tag Team Champions while Big Bill responded accepting their challenge. Starks then stated that it is fitting that Sting’s first match in AEW was against him in a tag team match and promised that Sting will not make it to Revolution.

In another follow-up segment, it was announced that this match was made official for the February 7th AEW Dynamite show.
