As noted before, WWE recently removed Kevin Patrick as the lead commentator for their SmackDown brand over issues revolving around WWE officials feeling that things were not working out with Patrick’s commentary career in the company.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Patrick was officially released from WWE earlier today.
Johnson reported that WWE’s decision to release Patrick was a last minute type decision due to Patrick had been scheduled to travel to Florida for this Friday’s SmackDown show in Miami. Following his demotion, Patrick had been planned to resume his work as a backstage interviewer for the company.
Prior to his release, Patrick had been with WWE since March of 2021.
