WWE reportedly currently has plans locked in for one of their top matches for this April’s WrestleMania 40 event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that WWE officials have locked in their plans for CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to be one of the top matches at WrestleMania 40.
In regards to Roman Reigns’ match at WrestleMania 40, Meltzer reported that WWE officials currently do not have plans locked in for his match but his opponent is currently expected to be either Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson or Cody Rhodes. Meltzer speculated that it is possible that WWE officials could end up deciding for a Triple Threat match to take place instead involving all three for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
In regards to the top Women’s match for WrestleMania 40, Meltzer reported that WWE officials currently do not have plans locked in for this match but Becky Lynch vs. Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s World Championship is the current favorite top choice.
