Swerve Strickland Calls Out Samoa Joe for AEW World Title Shot, Undisputed Kingdom Responds

Wednesday’s Dynamite show also featured Swerve Strickland calling out Samoa Joe for a future AEW World Championship match.

This was setup following an in-ring promo segment involving Strickland, Prince Nana, and Joe. Strickland and Nana came out for an in-ring interview with Tony Schiavone. Strickland talked about coming up short at winning the AEW World title at Revolution 2024. Strickland also talked about the goals he had for AEW when he first signed with the company nd only to realize where he is at now. Strickland stated that maybe this is payback and karma for all the bad things he has done. Strickland stated that maybe he is not supposed to be a champion here and maybe he just needs to be the guy who gets so close but not quite there, leading to a “you deserve it” chants by the crowd. After some more words, Strickland stated that he will come after Joe for his title at some point and claimed that he will become the new AEW World Champion.

Joe’s music played to interrupt and Joe made his way to the ring. Joe proceeded to mock Strickland and stated that he came out here to hive a reality check. Joe stated that we are in Swerve’s house but unfortunately, Swerve’s house exists in Joe’s world. Joe stated that instead of letting the fans be disappointed in looking at an almost champion, he would let the fans rest their eyes upon an actual champion. Strickland responded telling Joe to not turn his back on him again and called him out for taunting him as if he was looking for a fight. Strickland then issued a challenge for Joe’s title tonight and stated why wait when we could do it right now.

Before anything else could happen, The Undisputed Kingdom’s music played interrupting Strickland and Joe. This led to the Undisputed Kingdom coming out and Adam Cole hyping up his stablemates and claimed that Joe is only the AEW World Champion because of their help. Cole then claimed that Wardlow will soon go after that title and bring it back where it belongs. Strickland interrupted mocking Cole for his failed opportunities to win the title and claimed he looked like Dr. Claw with his act as manager for his group. Strickland continued his insults stating that he has Britt Baker’s second number saved. This led to an angry response by Cole in return and challenged Strickland and Joe to a tag team match against two of his guys for next week. Strickland responded back stating why not right now leading to Cole shrugging off that idea. Schiavone interrupted stating that he just got word from Tony Khan that his match will be happening right now and called for a referee to come out.

Copeland then chased Christian Cage out of the arena and issued a challenge to Cage for his TNT Championship in an I Quit match at the March 25th Dynamite show in Toronto, Canada.
