As noted before, Kenny Omega has been out of action for AEW since this past January due to him suffering from diverticulitis.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that while no official decision has been made yet, his sources stated that it is looking more likely than not that Omega will be undergoing surgery to repair his intestines.
Meltzer reported that Omega’s battle and recovery from diverticulitis has had its ups and downs moments but he has mostly been dealing with a good amount of pain in recent months.
Omega reportedly told others that surgery is becoming more and more likely for him following the recommendations from two different doctors who told him that they think it is the best option for him.
Meltzer reported that if and when Omega returns, AEW already has a potential storyline feud with Kazuchika Okada in store for him stemming from The Young Bucks “firing” Okada from The Elite and replacing him with Okada.
