WWE recently announced that Paul Heyman, Bull Nakano, U.S. Express, Muhammad Ali, and Thunderbolt Patterson will be inducted into their WWE Hall of Fame for this year’s class. Besides the announced members, WWE is currently rumored to be inducting Lia Maivia, the late grandmother of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, as part of this year’s class.
Dave Meltzer reported in a special preview edition of this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that WWE officials are currently expected to announce at least one more member for this year’s Hall of Fame class. Meltzer reported that another member is also currently rumored to be getting to be inducted as well.
Meltzer reported that prior to WWE’s announcement of Patterson, a list featuring all of the previously announced members, Maivia, and Bray Wyatt for this year’s class had been circulating online. Those spoken to within WWE reportedly confirmed that Maivia’s name on the list is accurate and she will be getting inducted as part of this year’s class. Those same sources reportedly were not able to confirm Wyatt being inducted into this year’s class.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources also stated that WWE officials have held recent talks regarding Maivia and Wyatt rounding out the inductees for this year’s Hall of Fame class.
