Bang Bang Gang Unifies AEW Trios & ROH Six-Man Tag Titles at AEW Dynasty

Sunday’s AEW Dynasty event in St. Louis, Missouri featured the Bang Bang Gang (Jay White & The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn)) defeating The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) & Billy Gunn to retain their ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship and become the new AEW Trios Champions.

As a result of their victory, Bang Bang Gang officially unified the AEW Trios and ROH World Six-Man Tag titles into a single Trios/6-Man Championship in AEW and Ring of Honor.


Willow Nightingale Wins TBS Title at AEW Dynasty

Sunday’s AEW Dynasty event also featured Willow Nightingale defeated Julia Hart to become the new TBS Champion.

Following her victory, Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway entered the ring and gave a Best Friends style group hug to Nightingale in celebration of her title win. This celebration was interrupted by Mercedes Mone’s music and Mone came out to the ring. Mone confronted Nightingale who raised up her newly won TBS title to Mone teasing their upcoming showdown at next month’s Double or Nothing 2024 event.

This was Nightingale’s first ever championship victory in her AEW career.


Adam Cole Teases Wardlow’s Time in Undisputed Kingdom Possibly Nearing Its End

Sunday’s AEW Dynasty event also featured Adam Cole teasing kicking out Wardlow from his Undisputed Kingdom group.

During the AEW International Championship match at show, Wardlow came out to ringside to help out Roderick Strong only to be quickly prevented from doing so by the referee.

Following Strong’s victory over Kyle O’Reilly to retain his title, the rest of the Undisputed Kingdom came out including Adam Cole who was wheeled out on his wheelchair. Cole then got up revealing to the crowd that his ankle has recovered enough that he is able to walk on his own. Cole, Matt Taven, and Mike Bennett made their way to the ring leading to Taven and Bennett hoisting up Strong on their shoulders but Cole gave a dirty look to Wardlow behind his back teasing Wardlow’s time in the group might not be for much longer. This would be in reference to Wardlow not being able to beat Samoa Joe for the AEW World title after Cole claimed that Wardlow would bring that piece of gold for the group. Cole then walked towards Strong to join in on the celebrations.


Chris Jericho Wins FTW Title at AEW Dynasty

Sunday’s AEW Dynasty event also featured Chris Jericho defeating HOOK to become the new FTW Champion.

The ending to the match featured Jericho hitting a set of Judas Effects for near falls and followed it by grabbing his bat from under the ring and kept telling HOOK to just stay down since he did not want to have to anymore to him. HOOK responded by flipping off Jericho in defiance of Jericho’s words resulting in Jericho striking HOOK with his baseball bat laying him out for both the pinfall and FTW title victory.

Following the match, AEW commentator Taz left the commentary table and went to check on his son HOOK who was being attended to by AEW officials and doctors. Taz warned Jericho to back off and not do anything more to his son, which led to Jericho walking away and celebrating his newly won FTW title.


Will Ospreay Defeats Bryan Danielson in an All-Time Classic at AEW Dynasty

Sunday’s AEW Dynasty event featured Will Ospreay defeating Bryan Danielson in the first ever singles match of their careers.

Prior to the start of the match, ring announcer Justin Roberts called the match an “Absolute Dream Match” as part of his ring introductions for the match itself and Danielson and Ospreay’s entrances.

The finish to this match involved Danielson attempting a shoulder capture suplex to Ospreay only for Ospreay to counter with a Hidden Blade in return. Ospreay attempted an Oscutter only for Danielson to hit a Busaiku Knee in return for his counter response. Danielson and Ospreay then went to their respective corners with Danielson setting up another Busaiku Knee and Ospreay setting up another Hidden Blade and both men charged at each other resulting in Ospreay managing to hit a Hidden Blade to take down Danielson. Ospreay then followed it up with a Tiger Driver to Danielson that rattled Danielson enough that he had appeared to have hurt his neck. This led to the referee checking on Danielson and called for a medic only to be interrupted by Ospreay running at Danielson and hit another Hidden Blade for the pinfall victory.

Following the match, Danielson was seen being attended to by AEW doctors in the ring over his potential neck injury. The referee proceeded to raise Ospreay’s hand for his victory but Ospreay was more concerned over Danielson who was still being treated in the ring.


Jack Perry Makes Surprise Return & Young Bucks Win AEW Tag Titles at AEW Dynasty

Sunday’s AEW Dynasty event also featured Jack Perry making his surprise return to AEW and The Young Bucks winning the AEW Tag Team Championship.

Near the end of the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Finals Ladder match between FTR and the Young Bucks, Dax Harwood and Matthew Jackson battled on the ladder that was right under where the AEW Tag titles were hanging. This led to Harwood getting the upper hand and shoved Matthew off the ladder causing him to crash onto the mat. Before Harwood had a chance to climb up the ladder and grab the AEW Tag titles, a mysterious masked hooded person ran out from the crowd and got into the ring. This mysterious person tipped over the ladder causing Harwood to crash onto the ropes as security swarmed the ring to grab this person. While being held by security, this mystery person had their hood pulled down and mask taken off revealing himself to be Perry making his surprise return to AEW. As Perry was being restrained by security, Nicholas Jackson climbed up the ladder and grabbed the AEW Tag titles to win the match and become the new AEW Tag Team Champions.


Swerve Strickland Wins AEW World Title at AEW Dynasty

Sunday’s AEW Dynasty event also featured Swerve Strickland defeating Samoa Joe to become the new AEW World Champion.

Prior to the start of the match, Strickland came out in a special entrance wearing a Killmonger attire and Wakanda style drum music. Prince Nana came out next and put a robe over Strickland that was stated on commentary to have belonged to the late Jimmy Rave. It was also stated that this was Strickland’s way of honoring Rave as the founding member of The Embassy.

As a result of his victory, Strickland became the first ever African American wrestler to win the AEW World Championship in AEW history. This was also Strickland’s first ever major World title victory of his career.
