NJPW Announces 18 of 20 Competitors for 2024 G1 Climax Tournament & Full Field for Final Two Spots Qualifier Tournaments

During Sunday’s New Japan Soul 2024 event in Sappro, Japan, New Japan Pro Wrestling officially announced eighteen of the twenty competitors for this year’s G1 Climax tournament, which takes place from July 20th to August 18th in Japan.

In regards to surprise entrants for this year’s tournament, it was announced that Pro Wrestling NOAH talent Jake Lee and DDT Pro Wrestling and AEW talent Konosuke Takeshita will be officially competing in this year’s tournament. Lee was announced to be competing in A Block and Takeshita was announced to be competing in B Block.

In regards to the qualifiers tournament for the final two spots, this was announced to be two tournaments featuring six competitors each and the winners advancing to the final spot in A and B Blocks. These tournaments were also announced to be taking place throughout NJPW’s New Japan Soul 2024 tour.

A Block Qualifier tournament:

B Block Qualifier tournament:

• Hiroshi Tananashi, Toru Yano, Boltin Oleg, Satoshi Kojima, TAICHI, and TJP
