WWE: Je’Von Evans Suffered Cracked Ribs Injury, Vince McMahon Sex Trafficking Lawsuit Officially Paused, Ash By Elegance on NXT Battleground Appearance Being Last Minute Decision

Je’Von Evans Suffered Cracked Ribs Injury at Tuesday’s NXT Show

Tuesday’s WWE NXT show featured Shawn Spears defeating Je’Von Evans in a singles match at the show. The finish to this match involved Evans attempting a springboard crossbody splash to Spears on the outside only for him to crash hard onto the edge of the announcer’s table after Spears dodged away.

Following the show, Evans stated on Twitter that he had suffered a cracked ribs injury but it is not serious enough to keep him out of action for the NXT Championship #1 Contender 25-Man Battle Royal match at next week’s NXT show.

Vince McMahon Sex Trafficking Lawsuit Update – Court Officially Pauses Lawsuit

As noted before, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit this past January against TKO Executive Chairman Vince McMahon accusing McMahon of committing sex trafficking and sexual abuse towards her during her time in the company. McMahon, former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis, and WWE all filed motions requesting for Grant’s lawsuit to be moved to private arbitration. Grant’s lawsuit was put on hold this past April over a request from the United States Department of Justice, who officially launched their own criminal investigation and joined the lawsuit as an “interested party.”

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Grant’s lawsuit was officially paused on Tuesday by The United States District Court of Connecticut based on recent court records.

Official court filing:

“ORDER OF STAY AND DENIAL WITHOUT PREJUDICE OF PENDING MOTIONS. On the basis of the Court’s understanding that the parties mutually consent to a stay of these proceedings for a period of approximately six months, the Court STAYS this action to December 11, 2024.

In light of the stay of this action and the possibility of any change of circumstances during the pendency of the stay, the Court DENIES the defendants’ pending motions to compel arbitration (Docs. # 30 , # 35 , and # 61 ) without prejudice to renewal within two weeks of any future order of the Court lifting the stay.

The Court likewise DENIES as moot plaintiff’s motion to strike (Doc. # 31 ) with respect to allegations in a memorandum of law concerning a motion that has now been denied. It is so ordered.. Signed by Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer on 6/11/2024.”

Ash By Elegance Comments on Her NXT Battleground 2024 Being a Last Minute Decision

As noted before, this past Sunday’s NXT Battleground 2024 event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada featured TNA Wrestling talent Ash By Elegance, former Dana Brooke, making a surprise return appearance in WWE.

A recent episode of the Paltrocast with Darren Paltowitz podcast featured Ash By Elegance as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Ash revealing that her surprise appearance at NXT Battleground 2024 was a last minute decision made by WWE.

“Well to be honest with you, it was all like a last-minute decision. I had no idea that any of this was going to happen. I thought it was great that there was some integration of the brands, especially with Jordynne (Grace). She’s one powerhouse and she’s definitely one of the most talked-about women wrestlers currently so it’s just — it made perfect sense to be honest with you because I am gunning for that TNA Knockout Worlds Championship and I felt like she was at a little bit of a disadvantage. She’s in NXT territory, I’m very familiar with it so, I was trying to help her, let’s put it that way. I was just trying to help her but, she took it differently.

It was really incredible because I had a signing in Jacksonville on Saturday before I headed out to Vegas and it was very difficult because, you know, a lot of people would come up and they’re like, ‘Oh my God, we would love to see you back’ and this and that. I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, never say never.’ Try to hold it in and I never told anybody, I like to keep it a secret and nowadays, you know if you can keep a secret from wrestling fans and breaking the internet then you know you’ve done something right.”
