Update on WWE Expected to Announce New Live Primetime Special on NBC – New Special Reportedly to be Return of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

As noted before, WWE is currently expected to announce a new live primetime special on NBC very soon. This upcoming special is currently expected to take place on a Saturday date in December.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources confirmed WrestleVotes’ report about the plans for this upcoming new special on NBC. Meltzer reported that those spoken to within WWE stated that this upcoming special will be the return of WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event series.

Meltzer reported that WWE’s new television deal with NBC for SmackDown’s return to USA Network included terms for four primetime specials to air on NBC per year.

WrestleVotes reported that one source spoken to confirmed that this upcoming special will be presented as Saturday Night’s Main Event.
