As noted before, former TNA Wrestling talents The Motor City Machine Guns’ Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin recently signed official contracts with WWE. Shelley and Sabin were expected to be heading to WWE’s NXT brand and make their official debut “imminently.”
Friday’s WWE SmackDown show in Nashville, Tennessee featured a mysterious vignette airing that contained footage of cars racing and a location that appeared to be the city of Detroit. This video ended with the text of “Coming Soon.”

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that the vignette that aired on SmackDown was meant to be for the Motor City Machine Guns’ upcoming official debut in WWE.
Johnson reported that WWE officials originally had plans for MCMG’s to debut in their NXT brand and have a short stint there before moving onto the main roster. Johnson also reported that neither Shelley nor Sabin were in Chicago this past Tuesday for NXT’s premiere show on The CW as had been expected.
Johnson reported that the MCMG will instead be heading to WWE’s SmackDown brand.
