As noted before, WWE will be reviving their Saturday Night Main Event series with a new show to take place on December 14th at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, New York.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that WWE officials currently have plans for WWE Hall of Famer Jesse Ventura to be involved in their upcoming Saturday Night Main Event special. Meltzer reported that Ventura’s exact role for the show has yet to be determined but he is not expected to be an announcer for the entire show. Meltzer speculated that Ventura might be involved in an interview segment or be the guest announcer for a match.
Meltzer reported that WWE officials current idea for Ventura is for him to be involved in the show for nostalgia reasons.
In regards to potential matches for this upcoming special, Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that WWE officials are currently considering plans for an Undisputed WWE Championship match of Kevin Owens vs. Cody Rhodes (c) to take place at their SNME revival show.
This upcoming show will be the first SNME themed show WWE will be holding since 2008.
