Lexis King Wins NXT Heritage Cup Title on Tuesday’s NXT Show

Tuesday’s taped WWE NXT show featured Lexis King defeating Charlie Dempsey to become the new NXT Heritage Cup Champion.

Near the end of the match, Dempsey’s cornerperson Wren Sinclair tried to get into the ring leading to the referee getting distracted. This led to King’s cornerman William Regal handing Dempsey brass knuckles to use, which King refused. An upset Regal responded by laying out King with a punch using the knuckles and Dempsey picking it up in the ring. The referee then turned around and saw Dempsey holding the knuckles. This led to the referee believing Dempsey had used it and called for the bell resulting in King being declared the victor and new Heritage Cup Champion.

This was King’s first championship victory of his WWE NXT career.

Kayden Carter & Katana Chance Make Surprise NXT Return on Tuesday’s NXT Show

Tuesday’s taped NXT show also featured Kayden Carter & Katana Chance making a surprise return appearance to WWE’s NXT brand.

Prior to the start of the tag team match between Unholy Union (Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn) vs. Fatal Influence (Jazmyn Nyx & Jacy Jayne), Carter and Chance were shown in the crowd in the balcony area next to Santa Claus.

During the match, Gigi Dolin, Tatum Paxley, & Shotzi and Carter & Chance all came out to be at ringside. This eventually led to Fatal Influence’s Nyx and Fallon Henley getting distracted and confronted Carter & Chance asking why they are even here. This led to the referee getting distracted and Dolin getting on the apron and pushed Jayne off the top rope leading to Unholy Union hitting their double team finisher for the pinfall victory.

OTM Wins Shot at NXT Tag Titles on Tuesday’s NXT Show

Tuesday’s NXT show also featured OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) defeating No Quarter Catch Crew (Myles Borne & Tavion Heights), Hank & Tank (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger), and The D’Angelo Family (Channing Lorenzo & Luca Crusifino) in a Christmas Chaos Fatal Four-way match to become the new #1 Contender’s for the NXT Tag Team Championship.

Eddy Thorpe vs. Oba Femi vs. Trick Williams for NXT Title Announced for NXT New Year’s Evil 2025

Tuesday’s NXT show also featured one newly updated match for the card of NXT New Year’s Evil 2025, which takes place on January 7, 2025 at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California.

This new updated match was a NXT Championship Triple Threat match of Eddy Thorpe vs. Oba Femi vs. Trick Williams (c).

This match was initially setup after last week’s controversial double pinfall finish to the NXT title match between Thorpe and Williams and the post-show confrontation between Thorpe and Senior VP of NXT & Talent Relations Shawn Michaels over Thorpe’s frustration over NXT GM Ava’s decision to keep the title on Williams.

During tonight’s show, Williams came out to the ring and attempted to talk about his match last week only to be quickly interrupted by Femi who in turn was quickly interrupted by Thorpe. After some bickering between all about last week’s controversial ending and who gets the next shot, Williams responded stating that he would be willing to put his title against both of them in a Triple Threat at New Year’s Evil 2025. This led to NXT GM Ava coming out and asked Williams if that was what he wanted, which Williams agreed. Ava then officially announced that the match would now be a Triple Threat for the NXT title. Afterwards, Thorpe attempted to attack Williams only for Williams to dodge and Femi getting hit instead. This led to a brawl breaking out ending with Thorpe scrambling out of the ring and Femi holding up the NXT title.

Current card for NXT New Year’s Evil 2025:

  • NXT Championship Triple Threat match – Eddy Thorpe vs. Oba Femi vs. Trick Williams
  • NXT Women’s Championship – Giulia vs. Roxanne Perez (c)
