Monday’s WWE RAW show at the SAP Center in San Jose, California featured Penta making his official debut in WWE. Penta faced off against Chad Gable in a singles match on the show, which was won by Penta.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Penta clutching at his knee and leg throughout the match was just simply him selling his leg and not him actually suffering any injury.
Those spoken to reportedly stated that Penta’s match and post-match promo went way longer than WWE officials had originally planned for him on the show. This reportedly led to time being trimmed from other segments for the show and several talents not being trilled backstage over their segment times getting cut as a result.
Despite this issue, WWE management reportedly was happy with Penta’s debut and the reaction he received from the live crowd. WWE officials reportedly were also happy with the early merchandise sales numbers for Penta.
Johnson reported that Penta is officially a member of WWE’s RAW brand roster.
