As noted before, Powerhouse Hobbs had announced during Wednesday’s
Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Huntsville, Alabama that he was not medically cleared to compete. Hobbs’ announcement was later revealed to be a geninue injury announcement and related to stitches he recently received that had not fully healed.
Bryan Alvarez reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that Hobbs had suffered an injury during his brawl segment with Big Bill at this past Saturday’s AEW Collision Homecoming 2025 show.
Alvarez reported that AEW officials original plans were for Hobbs to be involved in another big brawl on Wednesday’s show that would have led to a street fight match for this Saturday’s Collision show, which was taped on Wednesday following AEW’s Dynamite show.
Alvarez also reported that Hobbs’ actual injury and potential return date is currently not known.
In regards to AEW’s changed plans for Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show, Alvarez reported that Hobbs’ promo was filmed in Huntsville after the doctor would not clear him to compete when he arrived at the arena. This reportedly led to AEW officials booking the Mid-South Street Fight match between the Death Riders and FTR to replace Hobbs’ planned street fight match for this week’s Collision show.
