Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Huntsville, Alabama featured Powerhouse Hobbs announcing during a video promo segment that he was not medically cleared to compete for tonight’s show.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Hobbs announcement about his medical status was genuine.
Sapp reported that Hobbs was backstage in attendance and willing to perform but was told that he needed an additional week before being medically cleared. The reason reportedly was due to Hobbs had stitches that had not fully healed up yet.
In regards to AEW’s original plans for Hobbs, Sapp reported that Hobbs was heavily factored into AEW officials plans for tonight’s Dynamite and Collision double tapings and as a result, there was a domino effect of changes made for both shows.
