As noted before, Sunday’s The People vs. GCW event for Game Changer Wrestling at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, New York featured TNA Wrestling and indies talent PCO giving a shoot rant speech against TNA and attempted to destroy the TNA Digital Media Championship. PCO later provided an update blaming his issues with TNA’s management for the cause of his incident while TNA’s initial reaction was one of shock over it.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that PCO did not inform neither GCW nor TNA officials that he would be cutting a promo or destroying the TNA Digital Media title at the event. PCO reportedly had told GCW officials prior to going out to the ring for his Rumble match that he was going to cut a promo to set up a storyline for the next TNA shows. GCW officials reportedly later discovered that this was not the actual case.
In regards to the reaction within TNA, it was reported that those spoken to within TNA were “shocked” and “livid” over PCO’s actions. Several of those spoken to reportedly stated that they believed PCO’s actions were due to the company not renewing his contract.
Those spoken to reportedly confirmed that PCO’s contract had expired at the end of last year but he was set to finish his run with the company at this week’s upcoming tapings in San Antonio, Texas. Those same sources spoken to reportedly stated that the company will not be bringing PCO back for the tapings following his outburst.
In regards to PCO’s destruction of the Digital Media Championship, those spoken to within TNA reportedly stated that the belt that PCO destroyed was a replica and they are in possession of the real belt. It was reported that PCO was originally planned to lose the title at this week’s TNA tapings but TNA officials have officially vacated the title.
