As noted before, Saturday’s WWE Royal Rumble 2025 event in Indianapolis, Indiana featured Alexa Bliss making her surprise return to WWE. Bliss made her official return during the Women’s Royal Rumble match as one of the surprise entrants for the match.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Bliss was brought into the Lucas Oil Stadium at around 3PM EST on Saturday following a last-minute agreement with WWE. This deal between Bliss and WWE reportedly was made over the past few days and possibly even the day before the event. Bliss reportedly had flown from Florida to Indianapolis on the day of the event.
Johnson reported that none of the participants in the Women’s Royal Rumble match were aware of the plans for her involvement until rumors started circulating stating that she was going to be part of the match. WWE officials reportedly kept Bliss out of sight from others backstage until it was time for her entrance.
In regards to WWE’s current plans for Bliss after the Rumble, Johnson reported that Bliss is currently expected to be working as a member of the RAW brand going forward. Johnson also reported that WWE had already designed new merchandise for Bliss’s return.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources confirmed that Bliss’ return was something that was setup very late and the other participants in the Women’s Royal Rumble match were unaware beforehand of the plans for Bliss’ involvement.
Sapp reported that was not at the rehearsals for the match this past Friday and instead Shotzi was originally planned to enter for Bliss’ spot in the match.
Sapp also reported that while many within WWE had felt excited for Bliss returning after a long absence, others had felt bad over how things turns out with Shotzi not being in the match.
Sapp also reported that there is not any ill will towards Bliss over her replacing Shotzi for the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
