Hirooki Goto Wins IWGP World Title at NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka 2025

Tuesday’s The New Beginning in Osaka 2025 event for New Japan Pro Wrestling in Osaka, Japan featured Hirooki Goto defeating Zack Sabre Jr. to become the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

Following the match, Goto gave a speech to the crowd talking about his late father and saying that he knew he was watching and this victory was for him. Goto then asked for his children at ringside to come be with him in the ring and continued with his victory speech and declared tonight to be the start of The Goto Revolution.

This was Goto’s first ever IWGP World title victory in his NJPW career and snapped his losing streak of eight IWGP World title matches in a row before finally winning it.
