Cody Rhodes Dealing with “Multiple Injuries” After WWE Title Ladder Match at Royal Rumble 2025
Saturday’s WWE Royal Rumble 2025 event at the Lucas Oil Stadium featured Cody Rhodes defeating Kevin Owens in a Ladder match to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. This match was notable for several scary looking spots involving Rhodes and Owens landing very hard onto ladders.
During the Royal Rumble post-show, co-host Jackie Redmond announced that Rhodes had suffered “multiple injuries” from the match but will still be making an appearance on this week’s WWE SmackDown show.
“Cody Rhodes is dealing with multiple injuries. I can’t confirm the intensity or severity of those injuries, but what I will tell you is that they are bad enough that Cody will not be addressing the media in tonight’s press conference. In fact, his in-ring status might even be up in the air as well. What I can confirm is that Cody Rhodes will still attend Friday Night SmackDown in Memphis.”
