Backstage Update on AEW Changing Their Colors Scheme for Full Gear 2023 & Reason for Revolution 2025 Colors Scheme Choice

AEW’s Full Gear 2023 event graphics had initially featured a yellow and gold color scheme for its first promotional material only to later be changed back to its traditional color scheme for promotional materials afterwards.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that the reason for the initial change was due to AEW officials wanted to use a color scheme inspired by the Los Angeles Lakers for their event at the Kia Forum, also known as the LA Forum. Sapp reported that those spoken to stated that by October of 2023, the graphics were changed due to request from the LA Forum’s new owners who also own the Los Angeles Clippers. Sapp reported that the reason was due to the Clippers ownership had sought out a change over the colors represented the Lakers. AEW officals reportedly reverted back to their traditional Full Gear graphics and colors scheme in response.

In regards to AEW’s Revolution 2025 event, Sapp reported that the reason why AEW was able to adopt the Lakers’ colors scheme of purple and gold was due to AEW CEO Tony Khan’s admiration for the team. Sapp also reported that the Crypto.com Arena had previously been a WWE exclusive venue for wrestling events but after WWE moved to the Inuit Dome for a RAW show, AEW was able to secure a deal for their event at the Lakers’ home venue.

Adam Cole Comments on Not Being ” Even Close To Wanting To Be Done With Wrestling” & Having More to Offer in AEW

A recent episode of the AEW Close Up with Renee Paquette show featured Adam Cole as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Cole’s thoughts about the setbacks he had faced in his AEW career and not being even close to wanting to retire from wrestling and still having more to offer in AEW.

“To me, there’s just no other choice. I know these challenges have been difficult, but everyone goes through their own challenges in their own way. I’m not even close to wanting to be done with wrestling. I feel like I have a lot more to offer, especially here in AEW, so even with these roadblocks or with these challenges, my mentality has just never changed. I’m fully confident that I’ll be able to come back from all this and have the best years of my career ahead of me.”

In a recent issue of the Mone Mag fan newsletter, Mercedes Mone gave her thoughts about how she was approached to be involved with the production of the Queen of the Ring film but had to turn down he offer due to her injury at the time. Mone stated “Before AEW Revolution, I made my way to LA for the red carpet premiere of “Queen of the Ring,” a film that tells the incredible story of Mildred Burke. It’s truly surreal for me. A couple of years back, I was approached to be a part of this project, but unfortunately, I was sidelined due to an injury. However, seeing my girls Trinity, Toni Storm, and Kamille shine in this film fills me with so much joy.Let’s be real: women have always had to work ten times harder than men to get noticed in this industry. And when you look back at Mildred Burke’s era—wow! It was a whole different ballgame. I have immense respect for the trailblazers who laid the groundwork for women like me to build empires in this sport. I’m beyond excited for everyone to see this movie and to continue embracing women’s wrestling in all its glory. And, of course, you know I had to bring the heat on the red carpet! Anytime there’s a chance to showcase my style, I’m all in. This time, I channeled a 90s vibe with a touch of Pamela Anderson. My amazing makeup and hair artist absolutely nailed it. So don’t forget to hit the theaters and catch “Queen of the Ring.
