As noted before, Brian Cage has been out of action for AEW since this past March due to an undisclosed injury and surgery that was later believed to be a knee injury.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources provided an update regarding Cage’s injury situation.
Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that Cage had actually suffered a torn quad injury and not a knee injury.
Meltzer also reported that the usual recovery for a torn quad injury is around one year but Cage is currently hoping to be able to return quicker.
Cage reportedly had been working with a injury in his leg for months that he did not realize how bad it was until very recently. Cage reportedly had also felt that he could work through it through at least AEW’s All In Texas event and then take time off to let it heal prior to him having to undergo surgery for it.
