As noted before, TJP’s contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling was set to expire earlier this year.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that TJP recently rejected a new contract offer from NJPW and is currently a free agent. Those spoken to stated that there is no ill will on either side over TJP’s rejection.
It was reported that despite his expired contract, TJP is still currently working for NJPW as a freelancer.
It was also reported that NJPW officials had also asked TJP to work at this year’s upcoming Best of the Super Juniors tournament but this was something TJP had also turned down. NJPW officials reportedly had big plans for TJP to have a prominent role in this year’s tournament.
TJP has been working for NJPW since July of 2019 following earlier stints with the company.
