Jey Uso Comments on His WWE World Title Victory at WWE WrestleMania 41 Night 1 Show

Saturday’s WWE WrestleMania 41 Night 1 event at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada featured Jimmy Uso defeating Gunther to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Following the show, WWE held a WrestleMania 41 Saturday post-show press conference featuring Uso as one of the guests. One of the topics discussed included Uso’s thoughts about his championship victory over Gunther and if it has sunk in yet that he is now a World Champion.

“No, Uce. I just wanted to be a tag team wrestler with my twin brother. Once you start to progress and see different doors open, you want to take advantage of those opportunities. It’s been hard. Especially hard today because I feel like, our business, everyone is smart to it. We the last of a dying breed, that’s what I think. It’s damn near live theatrics, one shot, one take, live TV. I take pride in all that. All my brothers and sisters. Everyone who put on today. Behind the scenes, we’re all a big family. I’m so grateful I get to do this little part.

I go out there and wrestle, but the production crew, the people who drive the trucks, who load, catering, I love y’all. I love everybody. My hat’s off. Stay humble, ready to rumble. Welcome to the YEET Era. I don’t know what’s about to happen. I’m gonna embrace the hate. I’m gonna embrace the love. I dethroned the Ring General. I’m the World Heavyweight Champion. I got side plates on this thing. This is the quickest I ever got…I had to wait two weeks when I won the IC Championship. I got a new shirt on. It’s love. YEET.”

Rhodes stated “I had made the mistake, a lot of people texted me after concerned because my eardrum burst and the next day I had the full tommy boy spot on my face. I told everybody, ‘He didn’t get me at all.’ Then, I realized there was a nice fan cam shot of how difficult it is.” Rhodes also gave his thoughts about the payback he is planning to give to Scott at WrestleMania 41. Rhodes stated “Travis Scott, for as talented as he is, and he’s an incredibly talented guy. I even bought his kicks, I got a pair for Liberty as well. Travis Scott uh, kinda sucks. He kind of sucks. Triple H announced he’s coming to WrestleMania, I’ll be looking for what we call in the wrestling business a little bit of a receipt. Payback.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
