Forbidden Door 2025 Ticket Sales Gate on Track to Be 3rd Largest in AEW History
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW topped $1 million for the pre-sale tickets advance for their co-promoted Forbidden Door 2025 event on August 24th at the O2 Arena in London, England.
Meltzer reported that AEW’s current gate for this year’s Forbidden Door event is currently on track to be the third largest gate ever for an AEW pay-per-view event in company history, only behind All In 2023 and 2024 at Wembley Stadium.
Meltzer also reported that Forbidden Door 2025 could potentially drop to fourth all-time depending on what this year’s All In Texas event does for its live gate.
Update on Mariah May’s AEW Contract & Career Future Status
As noted before, “The Glamour” Mariah May’s contract with AEW is currently believed to potentially be expiring either this summer or this November. May is currently believed to be potentially leaving AEW for WWE once her contract expires.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that it is currently not known if WWE has already made a “big” offer to May nor if she had already told AEW that she was not going to re-sign with the company based on his sources.
Sapp reported that the current expectation is that May likely is still heading to WWE once her contract with AEW expires.
