AEW News & Notes
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that the reason why Triller has yet to put up a way to purchase AEW’s upcoming Double or Nothing 2025 show on May 25th for their United States market is currently not known. Meltzer reported that Triller will carry the show in some international markets but the event is currently not expected to be available in the U.S. and maybe not the United Kingdom as well on the service. Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that Prime Video, YouTube TV, and PPV.com will carry the event worldwide along with cable and satellite PPV providers in the U.S. and Canada.
Swerve Strickland recently announced on Twitter that he will be teaming up with former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin for a new song called “What it’s made of.” Strickland also announced that this new song will be released later this year and also features Musiq Soulchild.
Lio Rush recently announced on Twitter that he had attended the red carpet premiere of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning this past Sunday in New York City, New York.
The debut trailer for the upcoming new short film titled Money Talks was released this past weekend. This upcoming film featured HOOK among the cast.

Dustin Rhodes announced on Twitter that Monday marked the 17th year he has been sober. Rhodes stated “Huge day for me! Thank you God for saving me from drugs and alcohol. Happy 17th birthday to me!#CleanIsCool#17yrs#KeepSteppin“
In a recent interview with Fightful, Prince Nana stated that he recently started training again for a potential match in the future. Nana stated “There’s always a possibility Prince Nana is beginning to start to train. I’m beginning to get back into the ring and I always had the itch to get back in there but no one has pissed me off enough for me to do it, alright? MVP was getting close, alright? He was getting real close, but don’t worry, my friends, that day will happen before I turn 50.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown on SI, the Young Bucks’ Matthew & Nicholas Jackson gave their thoughts about the differences between wrestling in AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Nicholas stated “I’d say the biggest difference for us wrestling for NJPW instead of AEW has to be less obligations. So when we wrestle for them, we only have to focus on being wrestlers. So it’s a lot easier for preparation.” Matthew responded stating “NJPW has always been most known for its strong style, hard hitting wrestling matches. If you’re a talent and you’re backstage, expect to wrestle that night. AEW could be different. You might be needed for a week, only to do a quick pre-taped promo to progress a story or show a character beat. And in AEW, it’s an all you can eat buffet of different styles, and it’s all condensed into a quick two hour television show with multiple commercial breaks. I guess it’s non-TV vs. TV, which in turn makes the two products feel completely different.”
