Real American Freestyle Wrestling announced earlier today that they have signed UFC Legend and ESPN MMA analyst Chael Sonnen to a contract with the company.
Real American Freestyle co-owners Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, and Israel Martinez announced that Sonnen will be the lead commentator and analysts for their new promotion.
Sonnen has past history with Hogan over both of them had accompanied Colby Covington for his MMA fight against Joaquin Buckley in UFC in December of 2014.
Prior to his UFC career, Sonnen had competed as an amateur wrestler and had won silver at the 2000 Greco-Roman World University Championships and was a two-time Dave Schultz Memorial International Greco-Roman winner. During his collegiate career, Sonnen had earned All-American status at the Universeity of Oregon and was a two-time PAC-10 runner-up.
Real American Freestyle Wrestling is currently scheduled to hold their debut event on August 30th in Cleveland, Ohio.
