Kyle Fletcher Reportedly Dealing with Backstage Heat Over Apron Powerbomb Spot to Adam Cole at 5/28 AEW Dynamite Show

This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in El Paso, Texas featured Adam Cole defeating Kyle Fletcher to retain his TNT Championship. This match was notable for a spot involving Fletcher performing a powerbomb to Cole on the apron that resulted in Fletcher missing the apron and the back of Cole’s head hitting the edge of it instead.

Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Live that his sources stated that there were a lot of people who were furious at Fletcher backstage following the botched spot.

Meltzer reported that the reason for the anger at Fletcher was due to Cole’s history of head injuries and concussions. Meltzer reported that Cole has suffered more head injuries and concussions that have not been made public and there have been times where Cole hasn’t been on AEW television due to these issues.

Meltzer also reported that the general reaction backstage over Fletcher’s rough apron powerbomb spot was one of them questioning what he was thinking doing that spot the way he did to Cole and having no answers for it.
