New Lawsuit Against Billy Jack Hayes Over Allegations of Elder Abuse & Coerced Marriage Committed Against His Late Wife

As noted before, former WWF, WCW, and NWA wrestler Billy Jack Haynes was arrested in February of 2024 following a shooting incident at his home in Portland, Oregon that resulted in the death of his wife. A court ruled earlier this month that Hayes is currently unfit to stand trial and would be transferred to the Oregon State Hospital.

FOX 12 Oregon reported that the estate of the late Janette Becraft filed a civil lawsuit on May 23rd against Becraft’s husband Waynes before a Multnomah County court in Portland.

In the filing, Becraft’s estate is claiming that Haynes had committed elder abuse against Becraft for a number of years and also claimed that Haynes had coerced her to abandon her medical professionals. The lawsuit is also claiming that Haynes also committed physical, mental, and financial abuse against Becraft.

The lawsuit is also claiming that Hayes had also coerced Becraft into a fraudulent marriage in 2021 and forced her to change her estate to cut her family off from receiving anything from it.

In regards to the claims of elder abuse, the lawsuit claimed that Becraft was susceptible to “force, threat, duress, coercion, persuasion or physical or emotional injury” due to her elderly age. Haynes allegadly also is claimed to have isolated Becraft from her family to the point of preventing them from delivering food to her. Haynes is also claimed to have forced Becraft to liquidate hundreds of thousands of dollars from her savings so he could control the finances.

In regards to Haynes’ gun that was used for the murder of Haynes, the lawsuit claims that Haynes had forced Becraft to purchase a gun for him since he legally was prohibited from purchasing one due to his previous criminal record.

The lawsuit also claims that Haynes had introduced Becraft to heroin, methamphetamine, and sleeping pills and claimed this caused a decline in her health.

Becraft’s estate is currently seeking $750,000 in damages from Haynes.
