Video: Last Week’s Show Recap

We start off with a look back at the battle royal to determine the number one contender for the NXT Men’s Championship.

In-Ring: Myles Borne, No Quarter Catch Crew, “All Ego” Ethan Page, Ava

No Quarter Catch Crew makes their way to the ring with Myles Borne.

Myles says last week, he shocked the damn world.  Twenty-five of the toughest men across NXT, LFG, and Evolve and he was the last man standing so he is going to Battleground.  He says he probably wasn’t your first, second, or third pick, but he is used to this.  He says they have been dancing around this for a while.  Myles says he has a disability.  He says he is partially deaf and it affects his speech and the way he talks.  Myles says last week, when he eliminated Ethan Page and Shawn Spears, he says he heard you going crazy.  He does not want to be known as ‘the deaf kid’.  He says he wants to be judged by his ability, not his disability.  Myles says he is the underdog at Battleground and he is facing a dominant champion, but he is fighting for all of the people struggling.  He wants to prove that you can be a success.

No one gave him a shot last week.  At Battleground, they aren’t giving him a shot, but he will shock the world.  He might not be able to hear, but he will hear Mike Rome call him the new NXT World Champion.

Ethan Page comes out and he says that Myles might be worse than Ricky Saints.  He is going to give Myles a reality check.  He won a battle royal on a fluke.  A one in a million chance thing come true.  Ethan apologizes that there is no closed captioning so he will speak slow enough that Myles can read his lips.  You cannot beat Oba.  You are not on his level or Ethan’s.  If you want to prove you deserve this match, put the contendership on the line against him.

Charlie tells Myles this is the perfect learning opportunity.  You put me in the match with Oba to get some advice about Oba.  What better way than to go toe to toe with a former champion.  This is the perfect fight camp.  You get to silence all your doubters, especially your biggest one.

Myles tells Charlie he is right and Ethan is on.

Ava comes out.

She says she doesn’t know if this is the right choice, but she sees how confident Myles is.  She will allow the match and the title match is on the line.  Right now, Charlie faces Oba.

Charlie Dempsey vs. Oba Femi

Oba with a waist lock take down but Charlie with a wrist lock.  Oba tries to slam Charlie but Charlie holds on and he applies a front face lock on the apron.  Oba pushes Charlie off the apron.  Charlie iwth a side head lock and he tries for a shoulder tackle but he bounces off Oba a few times.  Charlie with a single leg take down into a knee bar.  Oba gets to the ropes for a break.  Oba with a shoulder tackle.  Charlie goes for a LeBell Lock and Oba escapes.  Charlie with a waist lock.  Oba with shoulders to Charlie.  Charlie with a forearm and European uppercut.  Oba with a forearm and he gets Charlie up for a slam but Charlie with a sleeper.  Oba backs Charlie into the corner and Oba with a snap mare.  Oba with a hip toss.  Oba goes for a suplex but Charlie blocks it and gets a near fall with an inside cradle.  Oba with a forearm.  

Charlie with a kick and European uppercut.  Oba blocks a hip lock take down and Charlie with a head scissors take down with a double wrist lock.  Oba rolls over and Charlie with a triangle.  Oba goes for a one arm power bomb but Charlie counters into a sunset flip but Oba does not go down.  Oba with a back body drop.  Charlie kicks Oba in the corner and he chops Oba and works on the arm and sends Oba shoulder first into the ring post.  Charlie goes to the apron and he drops the arm on the top rope.  Charlie with a boot to the elbow on the mat.  Oba with a back elbow to try to get out of a waist lock.  Oba blocks a German suplex attempt.  Charlie with a front face lock but Oba backs Charlie into the corner.  Charlie with a knee lift for a near fall. Charlie with a double wrist lock.  Oba with a slam and a double sledge.  Charlie with a knee and a German suplex for a near fall.   Charlie goes for the arm and he applies a short arm scissors on Oba.  Oba rolls through to escape and he get a near fall and a one arm suplex.  Charlie slaps Oba and Oba slaps back.  Oba and Charlie exchange forearms and uppercuts until Oba takes the advantage.

Oba with an uppercut into the corner followed by a second one.  Oba wtih a running back elbow.  Oba tosses Charlie and hits Fall from Grace for the three count.

Winner: Oba Femi via Pinfall.

Backstage: Thea Hail, Karmen Petrovic, Tatum Paxley

Karmen and Thea are in the back talking earlier today and Tatum Paxley is throwing a fit.  She sees the ‘two new best friends’.  You say you are a grown ass woman and you can’t do anything alone.  Tatum says she has nothing and she can’t take this betrayal.  Tatum says friends will leave you.

Backstage: “All Ego: Ethan Page, Ricky Saints

Ethan Page is in BACK and Ricky Saints shows up.  

Ricky says Ethan is relentless.  He says that Ethan is trying to rain on Myles’ parade.

Ethan says he loves doing it and he will deal with Ricky after he wins the World Title.  You can then go back to being second fiddle to him.

Ricky says ‘good luck to that’.

Tony D’Angelo vs. Wes Lee

Wes says tonight is the final nail in the coffin of the D’Angelo Family.  He has learned about timing.  They have been waiting long enough and it is time for the High Rise to ascend to the top.

They lock up and Tony sends Wes to the mat.  Wes with a side head lock.  Wes holds on when Tony tries to send him off the ropes.  Wes avoids a clothesline.  Wes with kicks to Tony and an enzuigiri.  Wes mises a knee in the corner and he goes for a springboard move but Tony catches Wes and he connects with punches.  Tony with a flying forearm.  Wes goes to the apron and Tony grabs Wes by the hair.  Tony hip tosses Wes back into the ring.  Tyson gets on the apron and Tony goes after him.  Tony punches Wes.  Tyriek tries to interfere and it fails.  Tony wtih a kick to Wes.  Tony hip tosses Wes onto Dupont and Igwe and they catch Wes.  Tony with a cannonball onto everyone on the floor.  Dupont and Igwe get on the apron to distract Tony and Wes with a double knee strike to the back.  Wes sends Tony to the floor and Wes follows with a suicide dive. 

Wes kicks Tony.  Wes sends Tony back into the ring and Wes goes up top and hits a frog splash for a near fall.  Wes with a front face lock and he connects with knees to the head.  Tony with punches.  Wes with kicks to the leg and a double stomp to the back.  Tony rolls to the floor.  The referee checks on Wes, who has an issue with his foot.  Tyson and Tyriek get in some shots while the referee was not looking.  Tony gets back into the ring and Wes with a double knee drop for a near fall.  Wes with forearms and shoulders.  Wes with a punch.  Wes with another punch.  Tony monologs and he mentions Lorenzo and that pisses off Tony. Tony with head butts and Wes falls to the floor.  Tony goes to the floor and he sends Wes into Tyriek and Tyson.  Tony with a double clothesline.  He returns to the ring and Wes with a rollup and his feet on the ropes for a near fall.  Tony with a super kick and Tony with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex.   Tony with punches and clotheslines.  

Tony with a belly-to-belly suplex and a reverse suplex.  Tony with a power slam for a near fall.  Tony Goes for a spinebuster but Wes counters with a rana and follows with a scorpion kick.  Tony spears Wes when Wes goes for a Cardiac Kick.

Channing Lorenzo is on the ShawnTron and he says he knows where the Rizzo safe house is.

Wes with a Cardiac Kick for the three count.

Winner: Wes Lee via Pinfall.

After the match, Channing says he is going to give Rizzo a visit.

Tony storms to the back.

Backstage: Stephanie Vaquer

Stephanie Vaquer walks in the back.

We are back with a look at Bronco Nima and Lucien Price.  He says they are about family.  Their return means sink or swim for the tag team division.  They are going to put everyone under.  He tells every team to listen carefully.  When they get back in the ring, it will be the end of your game.

In-Ring: Stephanie Vaquer, Fatal Influence, Jordynne Grace

Stephanie says last week, Jordynne became the number one contender for her title.  She says she has respect for Jordynne’s journey.  She was at the top of TNA and now she wants to ascend to the top of NXT.  Stephanie speaks in Spanish and . . . 

Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley make their way to the aisle.

Fallon says it must be nice to be on the top of the world.  Everyone loves Stephanie.  Fallon says you have been on top ever since you got here.  You truly are one of a kind.  That is exactly what will make your downfall sweeter.  You were the double champion. 

Jacy says both of you must feel what it is like to win that title, but she cannot relate.  Jacy says Fallon was pinned by Stephanie.

Fallon says Stephanie pinned Guilia.

Fallon and Jacy talk about how this is their company and what if they took the title off your hands?

Jordynne Grace makes her way to the ring.

Jordynne tells Jacy and Fallon they can’t get out of each other’s way.  How are you out here to talk about the women’s title?  She says she is not here to save the day, she is here to protect her investment and her opportunity.

Stephanie says she is not Jordynne’s investment.

Jacy talks about ruining friendships and Fallon says that was the past.

Jacy says you have stamps on your passport.  While you toured the globe, they held down the division.  They deserve to be at the top.  Jacy says they don’t like newbies but Stephanie has taken advantage of her opportuntities.

Stephanie says she failed before and will fail again.

Jordynne says she has done a lot in a year.  She will beat Stephanie at Battleground.  She says she will take care of Fallon and Jacy if she needs to.  She will make sure that Stephanie is at 100 percent.

Fallon and Jacy say the title will be theirs.

Backstage: No Quarter Catch Crew

Myles asks Charlie if he is okay and Myles says Charlie is in no condition to be at ringside.  He says no one will take the title from him.

Backstage: The Undertaker, Billy Ray, Tyra Mae Steele, Zena Sterling, Izzi Dame, Nikkita Lyons, Lash Legend, Lola Vice

We are back and Bubba congratulates Tyra and Zena for competing in the finals of LFG and it will happen in the Mecca.  Only one of you gets the contract.  Only one of you get to compete in the best women’s division in the business.  He says Undertaker will back him up and say the winner will have a giant bullseye.

Izzi Dame and Nikkita Lyons show up and wish them luck competitng in their locker room.

Lash and Lola show up and says you better not try to take her spot.

Taker says whoever wins has their work cut out for them.

Parking Lot: Tony D’Angelo

Tony leaves PC and he drives away to get to Rizzo.

Myles Borne vs. “All Ego” Ethan Page

They lock up and Myles with a waist lock and take down.  Myles with a front face lock and Page gets to the ropes.  Page with a punch and side head lock.  Myles with an arm drag into an arm bar.  Page with punches and a clothesline.  Page punches Myles a few times.  Page with an elbow to the top of the head and a knee to stop punches from Myles.  Myles with a suplex followed by a punch and European uppercut.  Page with a back elbow.  Page with punches and a reverse chin lock.  Borne with a belly-to-back suplex.  Page returns to the reverse chin lock.  Borne backs Page into the turnbuckles when Page gets on Myles’ back.  Myles with punches and European uppercuts.  Myles with an Irish whip and splash in the corner.  

Page with an Irish whip and Myles floats over but runs into a boot.  Myles clotheslines Page over the top rope to the floor.  Myles goes to the floor and he connects with a European uppercut or two.  Myles with more European uppercuts before they return to the ring.  Myles with punches but Page with a kick.  Myles with a hard Irish whip and punch.  Page with an Irish whip and he runs into a boot.  Page with a power slam for a near fall.  Page with a Boston Crab.  Myles gets to the ropes to force a break.  Page with kicks to the back.  Myles with punches and Page stops Myles with a punch.  Page sends Myles into the turnbuckles.  Page with a hard Irish whip.  

Page with a punch and he puts Myles on the turnbuckles.  Page goes for a superplex and he hits it.  Page gets a near fall.  Page tries for the Boston Crab but Myles rolls through and he hits a power slam.  Myles with punches and clotheslines.  Myles with a European uppercut and an overhead belly-to-belly suplex.  Myles with a splash into the corner and he hits an Olympic Slam for a near fall.  Page with a waist lock and Myles with elbows.  Myles goes for a drop kick but Page blocks it and kicks Myles in the ribs for a near fall.  Page puts Myles on the turnbuckles.  Page goes for a power slam off the turnbuckles but Myles sends Page to the mat and he hits a clothesline.  Myles misses a power slam attempt and Page goes for a cutter but Myles with a drop kick for the three count.

Winner:  Myles Borne

Sean Legacy has a message for Je’Von Evans.  He says the energy he felt last week is what he tries to bring to Evolve.  He says he has nothing to lose.  Je’Von knows the roads he is going down.  He says it would be an honor to relive the action from the battle royal.

Backstage: Je’Von Evans, Ashante “Thee” Adonis, Ricky Saints

Je’Von is in LOCKER ROOM and Ashante shows up and asks Je’Von about dealing with the people in Evolve.  

Evans tells Adonis to worry about the women.

Evans says he won’t forget where he comes from.  

Adonis says he would smoke both of them.

Ricky Saints says he would like to see that.

Ricky says he will talk to Ava and maybe the winner can face him for the title after Battleground.

We are back with a look at Channing’s comments about being at the safe house where Adriana Rizzo is being kept.

Tony arrives with random large guy and he gets to the house.

Channing attacks Tony with a lead pipe.  He says he studied every move that he has taken.  He has no family and no friends.  He tells Tony he is not the only one here with stroke.  He humiliated him at Stand and Deliver by choice.  He puts an end to the D’Angelo Family at Battleground.

Thea Hail vs. Tatum Paxley

Thea with a waist lock and Tatum with a standing switch.  We get more standing switches.  Thea punches Tatum and wants to know what she did to her.  Thea with a snap mare and kick followed by a moonsault for a near fall.  Thea with a Fujiwara arm bar but Tatum with a rollup for a near fall.  Thea with a wrist lock take down.  Tatum blocks a wheelbarrow move with a kick to the midsection.  Tatum with forearms and a head butt.  Thea avoids being sent into the turnbuckles.  Tatum with a back elbow.  

We see Jaida Parker watching in the back.

Tatum with an enzuigiri and she gets a near fall.  Thea misses a punch and Tatum with another enzuigiri.  Thea with a rollup for a near fall.  Thea with punches.  Tatum with a kick.  Tatum with a flip leg drop for a near fall.  Tatum starts to scream and she connects with a head butt.  Thea with a Codebreaker.  Thea with chops.  Tatum misses a clothesline and Thea with a flying forearm and clothesline.  Thea with a kick and a clothesline.  Thea misses a hip in the corner and Tatum with a face buster.  Thea counters a suplex attempt with a kimura and Tatum gets to the ropes to force a break.  Thea blocks a kick and she goes for the kimura again.  Tatum with a rollup for a near fall.  Thea with a butterfly spinebuster and she applies the kimura.  Tatum goes for the eye and the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: Thea Hail via Disqualification.

Tatum attacks Thea after the match and officials come to the ring to try to stop her.

Backstage: Jaida Parker, Zaria, Sol Ruca, Kelani Jordan

Jaida is in LOCKER ROOM and she says that is what happens.

Kelani comes in and she wants to talk to Zaria and Sol.

Jaida leaves.

Kelani asks if Zaria is threatened after that spear.

Zaria says they don’t have to apologize.  She won the match.

Kelani wants another match next week and if she wins, she gets a title match at Battleground.

Backstage: Ava, Trick Williams, Joe Hendry

Ava is in CONFERENCE ROOM with Trick Williams and Joe Hendry.

She says this is the first time a TNA title will be defended in WWE.

Trick says Joe did it to himself.  You took his opportunity and he will take what means the most to Joe, the TNA title.  You should have stayed in your safe spot.  Battleground is his house.

Joe says anyone who should know about taking risks, it is Trick.  You have forgotten about that.  You are bitching about what you deserve or what should be handed to you.

Ava tells them not to make her call for security.

Joe says TNA is the hottest it has been in years.  It is because he wakes up to make it the biggest brand it can be.  It means him as champion.  He has been beating everyone who has come in front of him.  The TNA title will be defended on a WWE PPV.  He asks if Trick understands how big it is.

Trick says it is big because he is in the match.  He says he is bigger than TNA or WWE.  He says he is Hollywood.  He says he will take Joe’s fame, his title, and his brand.

Trick is given the contract and he signs it.

Joe says no one is more confident than Trick Williams.  You main evented Stand and Deliver in back to back years.  It might not be the biggest match of your career, but it is the most important.  There is no path for you to get the NXT Title.  When you lose at Battleground, there is no path to the TNA title.  As fast as you rose to the top, you can fall as fast.  You are the one who finds out when his fifteen mintues of fame expires.

Joe signs the contract.

Backstage: Hank & Tank, Josh Briggs, Shawn Spears

We are back and Josh Briggs is in LOCKER ROOM and Hank Walker and Tank Ledger enter.

Tank says they feel for Josh since he lost his partner and best friend.

Josh says he didn’t want Inamura to leave.  He took care of Josh in Japan.  He says he got pissed that they kept losing but he didn’t want to push him away.

Hank and Tank say they have Josh’s back.

Shawn Spears says your friend wouldn’t have walked away and he says he is talking about Brooks.  He calls Josh a cancer.

Josh says he has a good idea of how to clear his head and Shawn walks away.

Backstage: Ava, Kale Dixon, Uriah Connors, Andre Chase

Kale and Uriah are with Ava and they want to get Chase U rolling again.  They want to face someone in a tag match.

Ava says they can have their debut match next week.  

Andre enters and Kale and Uriah talk about their tag match.  

Ava says they will be facing OTM and Andre wants to know what the f***.

Next Week’s Show Card Rundown

Next week, Joe Hendry will be live in concert next week.  Trick Williams will have a rap performance.

Kelani Jordan faces Zaria and if Kelani wins, she gets a title match.  Je’Von Evans, Sean Legacy, and Ashante thee Adonis will meet in a Triple Threat match.

Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne & Fallon Henley) vs. Jordynne Grace & Stephanie Vaquer

Grace and Fallon start things off and Grace with a side head lock and shoulder tackle.  Grace with a waist lock and a back breaker and short arm clotheslines.  Grace adds Northern lariats.  Stephanie tags herself in and she hits a springboard cross body onto Fallon.  Vaquer with a chop and she goes to the ropes for a springboard move but Fallon kicks the ropes to stop he.  Jacy tags in.  Jacy with a kick and Fallon with a knee.  Jacy with a suplex for a near fall.  Vaquer with a satellite into a rollup for a near fall.  Jacy gets a near fall.  They exchange near falls and Vaquer with a bridge.  Vaquer with a rear chin lock.  Fallon tags in and she connects with a knee and Jacy with a thrust kick.  Fallon and Jacy go for a double suplex and Vaquer lands on her feet and she takes care of Jacy.  Vaquer with a codebreaker to Fallon and Vaquer with a back senton onto Jacy.

Vaquer kicks Fallon away and Grace is pulled off the apron when Vaquer tries for a tag.  Fallon sends Vaquer to the floor and she also does the same to Grace.  Jacy with a cannonball to Grace and Fallon with a cross body onto Vaquer and Grace.  Fallon kicks and chokes Vaquer in the corner.  Fallon with a cravate and knees.  Fallon with a forearm to Grace and Fallon with an Irish whip and chop to Vaquer.  Jacy tags in and hits a cannonball for a near fall.  Jacy with kicks and she sends Vaquer into the corner.  Fallon tags in and she gives Vaquer a snap mare and a running punch for a near fall.  Fallon with an Irish whip and forearm in the corner.

Fallon with another Irish whip and another forearm.  Vaquer with punches and a back heel kick.  Fallon with a kick to the midsection to stop Vaquer.  Jacy tags in and Vaquer with chops and kicks.  Jacy with a face buster and a short arm clothesline for a near fall.  Jacy misses a charge into the corner but she connects with a running kick.  Jacy kicks Vaquer in the corner.  Vaquer with a super kick to Jacy against the turnbuckles.  Fallon and Grace tag in and Grace with forearms to Grace and Jacy.  Grace with German suplexes to everyone.  Grace with forearms to Fallon and chops.  Grace with a back elbow to Jacy followed by a spinebuster.  Grace with a rolling Death Valley Driver and a forearm for a near fall.  Grace with a forearm to Fallon and she puts Fallon on the turnbuckles.  Fallon stops a superplex by Grace.

Grace goes for a muscle buster but Fallon counters with a tornado suplex.  Grace with a forearm and chop.  Grace gets Fallon on her shoulders but Jacy makes the save.  All four are in the ring and they exchange punches.  Jacy with a kick to Vaquer.  Jacy kicks Grace in the leg and it turns a suplex attempt by Grace into a DDT by Fallon.  Grace pushes Vaquer out of the way to take the double knee strike and Fallon gets a near fall.  Jacy with a kick to Vaquer from the apron.  Grace kicsk Jacy away and she head butt to Fallon.  Grace with the Beast Driver for the three count.

Winner: Jordynne Grace & Stephanie Vaquer via Pinfall.

After the match, Grace takes the belt from the referee and gives it to Stephanie.  Grace raises Vaquer’s hand.

Backstage: “All Ego” Ethan Page, Ricky Saints

We go to WAREHOUSE where Page stands over Saints and he tosses the belt onto Ricky as Page leaves.
