WWE announced one new match announced for the card of Night of Champions 2025, which takes place on June 28th at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This new match is an Undisputed WWE Championship match of CM Punk vs. John Cena (c).
This new match was setup following a promo segment involving Cena and Punk during Monday’s WWE RAW show in Phoenix, Arizona. Cena came out to the ring and started bashing the fans for causing R-Truth being back in WWE and bashing Truth for being nothing more than a sideshow comedic act in WWE. This led to Punk’s music interrupting and him coming out to the ring and lashed out in return claiming Cena has become a sell out for being the hand pick star of the establishment and claimed he isn’t one and instead represents the people. After some more insults-filled words, Punk issued a challenge to Cena for his Undisputed WWE title and for it to happen tonight. This led to Cena responding accepting the challenge but not for tonight and instead at Night of Champions.
