Mixed Backstage Reaction to WWE Evolution 2 Announcement & Concerns Over Issues with July 13th Date Chosen

As noted before, WWE recently announced that they will be holding a new all-women’s Evolution 2 event on July 13th at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

Fightful Select reported that the general reaction within WWE was mixed over the announcement of a new all-women’s Evolution event.

Several talent spoken to reportedly acknowledged the significance of having a second Evolution event but also brought up issues with the ending of the first event in 2018. These issues reportedly revolved around having a “curtain call” for its main event match since this was something that WWE would not have done for a men’s main event match.

One source spoken to reportedly stated that Evolution 2 could be a struggle in terms of tickets sales and interest due to a Beyonce concert taking place nearby on the same night. This same source reportedly also stated that hotel rates are already high as a result of this upcoming concert.

One top star talent spoken to reportedly questioned the timing of the Evolution 2 event due to their concern about an already crowded premium live event schedule for WWE that weekend. This same talent reportedly also questioned how this event will fit into the overall picture for future events.

One veteran talent spoken to reportedly was more optimistic and stated that they hope to see Evolution be a platform for the underutilized women on the roster to display their abilities. This same talent reportedly also stated how important the mixing of veterans with the younger talent is due to this is a way to elevate the women’s division in the company. This same talent reportedly also stated that for Evolution 2 to be a success, WWE needs to build up the event.

It was reported that WWE’s roster overall was stated to be mostly quiet when it comes to their enthusiasm for Evolution 2 due to their frustration over the company’s current creative direction for the women and the lack of internal communication in regards to the initial announcement for the event itself.

Besides Evolution 2, two other WWE events will be taking place during the same weekend in Atlanta. Both of these events will be taking place on the night before on July 12th with NXT Great American Bash 2025 at the Center Stage and the next Saturday Night’s Main Event show at the State Farm Arena.
