Chelsea Green Broken Nose Injury Update & Backstage Reason Green Missed July 13th SmackDown Show

As noted before, Chelsea Green has been out of action for WWE since this past May due to a broken nose injury. Following the injury, Green wore face mask to protect her nose while she was on WWE television and had been scheduled to compete in a Queen of the Ring tournament match on the July 13th WWE SmackDown show that ended up not happening.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that the reason why Green was absent in person from the July 13th WWE SmackDown show in Lexington, Kentucky was due to her dealing with a seperate health-related issue. Those spoken to reportedly stated that Green had been dealing with a sinus infection that caused her to experience hearing loss and she was sent to the emergency room. It was reported that this sinus infection was unrelated to her broken nose injury.

Following her appearance on the June 20th SmackDown show, those spoken to within WWE gave praise to Green for her quick turnaround.

Goldberg Comments on Not Caring How He Feels Physically After His Retirement Match As Long as Things Go Well

A recent episode of the CarCast podcast featured WWE Hall of Famer and co-host Goldberg’s giving his thoughts about his upcoming retirement match against Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and how he does not care how he feels physically after his match as long as his match goes well.

“I don’t give a fck how I feel walking out of there, I’ll be perfectly honest with you. This is all or nothing. At 58, and with the injuries that I’ve had, there’s no question that I’m compromised a little bit, but like I said the other night, I don’t give a flying fck if I walk in there with a football helmet on and two knee braces and my arm in a sling. It doesn’t mean anything other than the fact that, you know, I’m a little hobbled, and yeah, I won’t be 100 percent. But I’m bringing it, man. That’s the only way I know how to go. So when the clock ticks and it’s time to get in that ring, doesn’t matter whether I’m ready or not, because I better be ready.

It’s all relative. You always want to have more time. You know, my problem has been that it’s tough to gain a lot of weight and be that monstrous guy when you’re compromised, when your shoulder is messed up, when you’re 58. I mean, it’s just different. So instead of walking in there at 280 [pounds], I’ll be at 260. Hopefully that’ll be enough and I’ll look like I’m 280, I don’t know.”

WWE News & Notes

As noted before, Roman Reigns was recently in talks to be involved in a new live-action Street Fighter film. The Hollywood Reporter reported that their sources stated that Reigns recently joined the cast for this project and will be portraying the role of Akuma in the upcoming film.

Pro Wrestling Torch’s Wade Keller reported that his sources stated that some people within WWE currently feel that Karrion Kross won’t be a big star in the company because he “doesn’t really take bumps” during his matches. Keller stated that this was something talent spoken to brought up about how Kross is scared to bump and doesn’t take flat back bumps. Keller reported that talent spoken to stated “Oh right Wade, you’re right when you say Karrion Kross won’t be a big star on the main roster, but one of the reasons you are missing out is just watch his next match. He just doesn’t really take bumps.” While Keller had reported that he does not know the exact reason why Kross doesn’t like to take bumps in regards to it being an injury-related issue or something else, Kross himself had mentioned in a episode of Sheamus’ Celtic Workout that he never got surgery to repair a rotator cuff injury he had suffered in the past.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that those spoken to who have produced Karrion Kross’ matches in WWE stated that the rumors of Kross not being willing to bump during matches has never been an issue they’ve encountered.

This past Wednesday’s WWE Speed show on Twitter featured Alba Fyre defeating B-Fab to advance to the Finals of WWE’s newest #1 Contender’s tournament for the WWE Speed Women’s Championship. Fyre will be facing off against the winner of Thea Hail/Nikkita Lyons in the Finals of WWE’s current tournament.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that all of WWE’s talent landed in Saudi Arabia on Thursday in advance of WWE’s SmackDown and Night of Champion 2025 events in Riyadh this weekend. In a follow-up report, Johnson also reported that the five employees who were struck in Qatar at the Dohar airport earlier this week managed to fly out and arrived in Saudi Arabia this past Wednesday reuniting with the rest of WWE’s staff who had made the trip.

In a recent interview with Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge podcast, Gage Goldberg, son of WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg, gave his thoughts about how he currently views a career in pro wrestling as a backup plan for him if a pro football career does not work out. Goldberg stated “It’s there, it’s a backup plan, for sure. Football’s the priority, 100 percent. But it’s a backup plan. Football is my main plan, WWE is the backup plan, 100 percent.” (Transcript h/t: F4WOnline.com)

In a recent Fan Expo Dallas event, John Cena gave his thoughts about him loving wrestling so much more than acting for which of his careers he current prefers the most. Cena stated “You know, acting, they hurt your feelings a lot, too. I don’t know if you’ve seen some of my stuff or read the reviews. They will hurt your feelings. To be quite honest, and this is not a knock, I don’t think this is going to lose me any movie jobs because I do give my all to every opportunity I have. Just like we’re here today, I’m trying to answer all your questions. I love wrestling so much more. So much more. There’s no denying the magic in an arena for a live WWE broadcast. I love wrestling so much more and I’m fine saying that. If that knocks me out of the movie business, I’ll be accountable for saying that.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

As noted before, Logan Paul suffered a hematoma on his shin at WWE’s Money in the Bank 2025 event earlier this month. In a recent vlog, Paul provided an update on his shin injury and hematoma. Paul stated “So here’s an update on my shin, my hematoma: It’s f*cking great to be honest. The swelling has dispersed itself and it really hurts to touch, but structurally, it’s all good and let me tell you something I realized about that move (springboard moonsault), I don’t want to give anything away, but I’m going to say something: I could do that f*cking move again, bro. That move is devastating, for both me and the person I land on. But I will do it again when the time is right. So WWE fans, just know… I’m just warming up.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

In a recent interview with the Six Feet Under with The Undertaker podcast, Bron Breakker gave his thoughts about how WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque had informed him of the plans for him to join Seth Rollins’ new stable right before his Intercontinental Championship match at this past April’s WrestleMania 41 event. Breakker stated “Well, going into the weekend, I know we got the ‘Mania match. Fatal 4-Way, it’s my first ‘Mania, that’s my focus going into — I’m not thinking about Raw. I don’t even know if I’m gonna be on TV… I’m warming up for the match, we’re next. I’m in Gorilla and you know, Hunter and I are sort of building up this relationship… So I’m warming up for ‘Mania, we’re next. I mean, I wanna say the first guy in our match’s entrance has hit, and I’m waiting for my music and he comes around and we do our normal routine and then he’s like, ‘Ah, you know what’s going on?’ I was like, ‘No.’ Right before ‘Mania match. He was like, bam, bam, bam, bam. ‘See ya,’ and my music and I’m like (shocked) … I’m very humbled by it, I’m very thankful to, you know, be in this position, because I know how big of an opportunity that it is. This might be the only big chance like this…” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

In a recent interview with Fightful, former TNA wrestler and current WWE producer Chris “Abyss” Park stated that he currently has no plans to ever wrestle again and is currently focused on his backstage producer career. Park stated “To answer quite frankly, I’m done. Physically, I don’t have plans on wrestling again. Never say never, but I don’t see it in the cards, nor do I want it in the cards. I’m so happy with what I’m doing and the challenge that being a producer presents to me every day there. I’m so focused on that and being the best producer I can be. I had a great career with no regrets. Nothing I would have changed. It was time to move on and fortunately, I was lucky enough to be presented the opportunity to be a producer for the biggest and best wrestling company in the world. That, to me, was something that I never saw coming. I never thought that was going to be a possibility, just like I never thought this video game participation would be a possibility. That’s what I’m focused on now. Being the best producer I can be and contributing to the business that way. I just feel where I’m at in my life and career, I’m so enthralled in being a producer, I feel that’s where I’m best served. I’m focused on that and I continue to learn. It’s a learning process. I learn every week from the minds that I’m around and the talent I work with. It’s a non-stop learning process. That’s where my focus is at. If the opportunity ever rose and it’s the right situation, I just don’t think that’s where I want to be. I want to focus on being the best producer I can be.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
