As noted before, Claudio Castagnoli has been absent from AEW since the week of the June 18th AEW Grand Slam Mexico show due to him being granted some time off as a break. Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that he had inquired about Castagnoli’s contract status with AEW following John Cena name dropping Castagnoli’s name during his “pipebomb” promo to CM Punk on the June 20th episode of WWE SmackDown. Sapp reported that he was unable to get any clarity regarding the length of Castagnoli’s current contract nor the expiration date for it based on his sources spoken to.

Mercedes Mone recently surpassed the milestone of 400 days as current AEW TBS Champion as of this past Monday. Mone celebrated the achievement on Twitter stating “400 days 😍😍😍 I used to pray for times like this.“
AEW recently released a new AEW Close Up with Renee Paquette video featuring “Speedball” Mike Bailey as the guest.
AEW also recently released three new videos to their official YouTube channel. The first new video was an AEW World Championship match of Adam Cole vs. MJF (c) from AEW All In 2023. The second new video was a singles match of PAC vs. Orange Cassidy from AEW Revolution 2020. The third new video was a singles match of Will Ospreay vs. Chris Jericho from AEW All In 2023.
Will Ospreay recently reflected on Twitter about his 2025 year so far. Ospreay stated “Halfway through 2025. This is flight number 68 this year. Time I have spent on an aeroplane totals to; 397 hours 22 minutes. Everyday I’m super grateful to be living this life and performing for the greatest wrestling fans in the world. Thank you @AEW.“
In a recent interview with Instinct Culture’s Denise Salcedo, Sammy Guevara gave his thoughts about his wife Tay Melo’s recent return to AEW. Guevara stated “Man, it’s so cool because, I mean, for the longest time it was her and I, and we were just like this package deal, as we always said, package deal. Then all of a sudden, you know, it was just me on the road for a long time. Because even when she was pregnant, she was still traveling. She traveled all the way up until, like, August, and she gave birth in November. So, yeah, I mean, she literally quit the JAS with, like, a big old belly. It was awesome. But then after she left, then it was just me, and it was a little weird at first. Now it’s cool because it’s like I got my partner in crime back, but now it’s different too because it’s like I’m still missing our other partner in crime, which is our little daughter, Luna. Anytime all of us go, it’s tougher, it’s harder, but it’s like I feel like, okay, peace. We’re all here. So we’re not bringing her every week because I feel like that’s a little unfair for Luna, even though she probably would love to go. In my opinion, I want to bring her all the time. I don’t want to be away from her. But we’re like, no, only if we’re going to be gone multiple days we’ll bring her. So, yeah, I don’t know what I’m talking about.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
