Jon Moxley Comments on His Upcoming Texas Death Match Against Hangman Page for the AEW World Title at AEW All In Texas
The Undisputed held a recent interview with Jon Moxley. One of the topics discussed included Moxley’s thoughts about Hangman Adam Page’s story and their upcoming Texas Death Match for the AEW World Championship at AEW All In Texas.
“I don’t care what he’s going through or what song he listens to on the way in. Unless he finds what he’s looking for and grows into a beautiful butterfly right in front of our eyes and beats me, then good for him. But that’s not going to happen.
The Millennial Cowboy, the Emo Cowboy, that vulnerability, it’s what endeared himself to so much of the audience in wrestling. Those people will support you to the end of the earth. Now they’re asking more of him. Now he has to live up to that.
The walls are closing in on Hangman Page. He’s about to reach the summit of a mountain, a personal mountain, he’s been climbing for the last two or three years. He created this out of his own emotional baggage, his own fuckups, and I couldn’t even explain the rest–you’d have to ask him. But he’s clearly been searching for something for a long time, and it would be a very long, very painful fall if it doesn’t happen for him. That’s exactly what’s going to happen.
I don’t need a fancy entrance. I don’t need pyro. I don’t need shit. In fact, I don’t even need to wear the fucking belt. I’m inherently the AEW world champion. You can steal the belt, make your own, it doesn’t matter. You can’t take away what I’ve cultivated. Hangman is worried about who I’m bringing to the ring, or the type of weapons I’ll bring. None of that shit matters. Myself and my wits, that’s what I rely on to get the job done. Can he do what I do when you take away all that extra shit? What happens then? He ain’t got shit. He should worry about that more than his soul search from the past three years. I’m going to absolutely torture him, and I’m going to embrace and revel in it.
The world will see the difference between him and me. He doesn’t want to win. He’s thinking about The Young Bucks and his apology for burning down Swerve’s house. That was cool. Why apologize? Fucking own it, man. He’s in his own head. I’m at peace with the world. I give less than zero fucks. I have less than zero sympathy for him. It’s going to be ugly, people are going to be sad, and I’m going to love it.”
Abadon Comments on Their Favorite Matches from AEW Career
A recent virtual fan signing event for K&S WrestleFest featured former AEW talent Abadon as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Abadon’s thoughts about their favorite matches from their career with AEW.
“I always liked my Hardcore matches that I had (in AEW). I really enjoyed the one I had on Collision with (Hikaru) Shida, the Halloween match and then, my Halloween match as well with Athena. Athena’s somebody I’ve always wanted to wrestle so, being able to face her in a little bit longer of a storyline, it was worth it and a lot of fun.”
Abadon also gave their thoughts about the origin of the Abadon character.
“So, I’m super big into horror. Obviously, one of my favorite video games is Resident Evil. I have it tattooed on me and I just love zombies. They scared me a lot as a child. So, as I got older, I ended up having a fascination with the concepts of if a zombie could ever be real, and the Resident Evil movies came out and then I also am super big into heavy metal music or alternative music and fashion, and I love Visual kei, which is a form of Japanese fashion and J-rock is also a form of music from there, and I just take inspiration from things I heavily love. I’m not good at being a character in a sense of I couldn’t do something I didn’t like and so I was just like, ‘I’m gonna do me. Just turn it up to an 11.’”
Abadon also gave their thoughts about Asuka being a dream match opponent for their wrestling career.
“My dream match and why? Well, f*ck, that’s kind of hard. I mean, I really wanna wrestle Asuka at some point in my life. That’d be pretty cool. I’ve never had a Cage match so I really wanna have that at some point in my career. But Asuka is definitely up there… That would be pretty rad (to do a Cage match against Asuka). I’m not gonna lie… There are plenty, there’s so many but that’s probably the main.”
