Fightful Select reported that their sources provided details regarding AEW’s plans for the matches at their upcoming All In Texas event on July 12th at the Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
It was previously reported that AEW officials plans for the Kazuchika Okada vs. Kenny Omega match has been in the works dating as far back as last year. It was reported that AEW officials had planned for Omega to face off against Okada for the new Unified Championship well before Omega had returned to in-ring action from his bout with diverticulitis.
It was reported that the Mercedes Mone vs. “Timeless” Toni Storm match for the AEW Women’s World Championship had been one of the key matches for All In Texas that had been planned out for almost a year.
In regards to dropped match plans, AEW officials had plans at one point for a tag team match of Cope & Christian Cage vs. FTR to take place at All In Texas. These plans reportedly had been in the works since late last year before being dropped and was no longer expected to take place at the event. Cage is currently scheduled to team up with Nick Wayne in a Triple Threat match against JetSpeed and the Hurt Syndicate for the AEW World Tag Team Championship at the event.
In regards to AEW’s decision to hold this year’s All In event in Arlington, Texas, it was reported that AEW officials were aware well ahead of time that Coldplay had already booked Wembley Stadium for their tour during the traditional All In weekend years in advance. This reportedly was the reason for the decision to move this year’s All In event to a different date and location. It was also reported that it is currently not known why AEW did not simply just book Wembley Stadium for another date due to this year’s show taking place on a different date than usual.
